CDA Week 8 Workouts

Don't know if anyone is into posting/tracking workouts, but thought I would start up a week and see who/if anyone would join.  I enjoy the back and forth.

Off the reservation this week, just trying to ride outside every day with some distance Wed/Thurs/Fri.  Got 1:32 in today, 0.78 IF on 28.XX miles.  Was super windy and got pushed around a lot on the bike.  Spent most of the day on the hoods.  Hoping to get the tri-bike out this week but got to figure out how to work the hidden back brake and get my power hub wheel on there.

Get after it everyone!

  •  @ Roy, I'm up for it. I am doing a BBW starting tomorrow and ending with a century ride on Sunday. Trying to go over 350 miles. Will likely swim a couple of times too.

    <13 weeks and counting</p>

    Paul

  • Slim pickings Paul, but we are pretty cool ourselves... image Anyhow, got outside for the first ride on the tri-bike. Was definitely different than the roadie. I've got some tweaking to do and didn't have the tools to get it done during the ride, so I pushed through the route anyways. Another 1:33, 27 miles at 0.79 IF. Really good to have the shifters on the bars, but now I miss shifting when I'm climbing serious grades.

Pool in the morning, have to take the wife to the airport, but I'm trying to hit a ride as well. We'll see.
  • Hey guys. I think the rest of us will join you next week. I decided to take the time for transition, some swim focus and a few big bike days this week. Starting Monday, I'll join the banter as we build for CDA.
  • Well, the mini big bike week turned into a "come to grips with the new tri-bike / saddle / position week". No where near the mileage I had hoped for, but significant progress in getting more comfortable in the new position. I did bike every day for a solid eight days with about 25-35 miles each ride. Got some good swimming in the last two days and ended it all with a solid massage from a genuine western-European, broken English speaking masseuse who really got it done on my shoulders & legs. Ready to knock out the next twelve weeks!

  • good thing to work out, saddle position

I am finishing my BBW week tomorrow. Am at 285 miles in the last six days. Have the century ride tomorrow with the local club. Also got in a couple of swims and one 5 mile run.

will post deets after done tomorrow.

  • so BBW ended today with a local century -- 104.6 miles in 4:58:14, 320.7 TSS IF of 0.807 and burned 3641 calories; norm power 224 and that is with 58 minutes with no peddling as I rode all but 3 miles with a group of 8-10 folks. Been a while since I have done serious riding in a pack. Glad I had my road bike.

For the last seven days, did 404.2 miles in 21:09:09 for a total of 1,291.5 TSS points and 15,367 calories. Also did a couple of 3000 yard swims and one 4 mile run, but was not even counting that in the totals.

Taking tomorrow off, Tuesday light and then dropping into the intermediate IM plan for get ready for CDA. Have to say feelig great about my bke fitness.

Now will be putting up the road bike and going all tri all the time for the next twelve weeks.

  • Nice work Paul. Recover well!
  •  In hawaii.  Great ride yesterday past Hawi to the end of the road.   Great views over Pololu valley.

I dropped down into every park along the way And some got some hill work.

From maui so don't know the Big Island that well.   Fun finding out of the way gems.

Nice biking AND enjoying hawaii.   And the warmth.   Perfect temps.  Not very hot.
