Places to stay

 Hey crew-

We are staying at the Cozumel Palace.  Bringing the family, children, and in laws.  We are flying directly into Cozumel and arrive Nov 20 and depart Nov 27th.  Looking forward to doing to pre race workouts with you and sharing a few shasta's and for sure relaxing.

Still looking for a great bike case to travel with.  Wanting to purchase one that i only have to take the seat post off and tires.

We are chartering a deep sea fishing trip for 6 hours.  At this time it can hold 6 and I have 3.  Its a flat fee for 6 peeps.  If you would be interested let me know.  Not too bad of a fee.  ALso its not per person its just a fee for the day.  ALso a discount for for those competing.

Have a great summer.

  • Also at the Cozumel Palace. Bringing frau, 13 yr old daughter, and mother in law. Flying into Cancun and doing the shuttle run/ferry thing to save bucks. Will use TBT if they service the race. I've e-mailed them twice and they indicate that they are "likely" to support it, but it's not on their official list yet. If not, it's coming in my Pik-a-Packworks case which is a proven traveler (St Croix was last use)...I remove pedals, seat post, tires, and handlebar partially - cables still hooked -- just laid over to the side. Sorry - I've got no interest in fishing.
  • All, same hotel, travel dates as Carl mentioned.  We are 6, frau, girl (13), boys 11,9,9......

I called TBT and they are adding IMCZ this year so we should be good to go that route for the bikes.

I'll be beginning a Get Faster Plan for the next 7 weeks, then a BBW before dropping into the 12 IM plan....

I very much look forward to meeting each of you and watching you all tear it up and execute come Nov!

  • TBT is cheaper then flying the bike!!! Sweet but concerned after reading some of the abuse several bikes took last year. Hmmm
  • Carl ... I've never heard of any problems with TBT. Last year there was a start up doing similar service to TBT, but they were TriSport Express, based out of Tampa. They serviced Cozumel and barely got the bikes there in time, and many were abused. I saw photos on ST and discussions about it. TriSport Express went out of business after IMCOZ. It would not surprise me if some folks confused the two companies. I've used TBT for IMCDA, IMAZ, and San Juan with flawless service. I'm dropping my bike off with them for Muncie 70.3 tomorrow.
  • I called and TBT isnt making a stop in Iowa. I'm currently looking for a great bike case to travel with. Like only removing the seat caseimage
  • Carl I have both a hard and a soft case I could mail to you if needed.....let me know....

  • @ Shaughn ... My daughter is 13 so hopefully the two girls can have some fun there. I also have 3 sons but they are 32, 25, and 22. The only reason I'm doing Muncie is because my youngest son is in Dayton, Oh so I'm heading there after the race.

  • @ Paul - sounds like an impressive family!  I will also need some tips on your experience raising 3 boys while there............

I am taking the boys to Canada the last week in July for 5 days, cabin, fishing and will run only during that time......

Did my Swim, Bike and Run TT this week.  Swim improved, bike and run a little slower due to taper and detraining I suppose.

Did the Run TT this morning - 82 degrees Heat Index - not fun..........

  • We are also bringing the family.
Keegan is 15 and Olivia is 10
  • Hmm, my daughter turns 14 in Oct, so I'll be watching Keegan closely!
