Week 2: Gaining Momentum

As Steve pointed out, no slack! This week I will do Monday- self designed core using stability ball and weights, Wednesday- ab ripper x, Friday repeat of Monday. Sunday is a 10 mile race so will be adding these workouts to my run training. Hope to get back to swimming for elbow rehab next week and agree with Becky that swimming can be a great core workout!

  • Week 2 and still using P90X programming. Things are starting to take shape. My stretching regime is starting to reap some rewards. I am trying to follow their programing as close as possible as in which vid to put on. I have noticed there is no lack of core or ab work all week 4 + weekly easy. Ab blaster is still a killer but getting better.

    Monday- Shoulder/arms/abs

Tuesday- Core synergistics really like this

    Wednesday- Back/triceps/abs

    Thursday- Yoga-X

    Friday- Chest/biceps/abs

    Saturday- Stretch x

    Sunday- TBA

We'll see how week one goes... may have to make adjustments for week 2!!
Thanks Deb and Becky for keeping me focused!
  • Lol... glad you are focused Steve, becasue I. Am. Not. Not sure what my problem is... but since I have come off the IMC traiing wagon I have been steadily sinking into the couch further and further.... okay maybe a little dramatic, but I need to find my mojo, I think I left it in Penticton!! My goal this week was to do SOMETHING everyday, be it core, swimming, a ride, stretching, just get beck into some sort of a routine. The longer you stay away the harder it gets to jump back in- I read all of your psotings and I am a little jealous, I can't seem to get my head back in the game. Having a foot injury is NOT the end of the world, I should be pumped that I am going to have time to strengthen all my weak areas, and spend more time accruing SUAs for when I can get full on back into training... So okay, here goes my plan for the rest of the week:
    Monday- Swim
Tuesday- Bike and Ab Ripper X- at least do ab ripperX
    Wed- Swim and foam rolling
    Thurs- yoga and elliptical w/o
    Fri- swim and core synergistics
    Sat- Bike
    Sun- ab ripperX

At the very least this group is making me plan a week.... now I just need to follow through!!
  • I hear ya, Becky!  I have all these good ideas of what I am going to do and then... the couch calls me lol! I do have a race this weekend and a HM on Nov 11th so that is helping me get up and run. I've always struggled to do core if it wasn't attached to a class I was taking. I am finding that digging out the videos is working to at least get me going. Ran this morning and plan to do Core Synergistics also today.... almost 4 pm so guess I should get going eh?  ugh lol! Hang in there!

  • The couch is your worst and best friend, resist! Post your w/o's on your fridge and challenge someone in the house to keep you moving. I just did a marathon and it has been good because it has made me go back to basics with the core group and focus on repairing my body ie core, strength and flexibility.
The overall plan to end this year. When I start OS and march into 2013 I will be repaired and prepared. Becky stop the sinking and good on you Deb digging out the vids!

  • Lol....that's some serious motivation there Steve-' Becky stop the sinking' 4 times!! Been a good last couple days, aside from the fact I can't use my ab muscles for anything right now!! Too sore... darn Core Sysnergistics!!
  • Slight changes from my week 2 post in my workouts this week but overall have been beneficial.
