Starting HIM program(run before ride on saturday)

I am new to the program and this may be answered somewhere else but just fininshed 14 out season and starting 12 week HIM.  wondering what the purpose of 30 minute run before bike on saturday is?  possibly to simulate some fatigue from swim prior to race portion of bike?

    No , it is more like a reverse brick so you run on strong legs versus having fatigue after a long ride and doing a brick. so essentially you are doing the work of a brick just in reverse order. I believe brick workouts will come later in the program if I remember correctly. additionally the point is by now you know what a brick run feels like and you know they're not pretty. so this takes advantage of running on strong legs.

    @David is right...we just want "more, better running" and we get that time by having you run before the long bike if at all possible! welcome aboard!
