Thurs bike Week 5
Looking through the Tuesday results, the accumulating fatigue is taking it's toll.
But Thursday is the least important day of the 3 for biking.
Again it was tough to get out of bed. During the warm up I could feel the fatigue in my legs and wondered what would happen. 110% is 206. This week I made 207, 206, 206. Quite a surprise when I downloaded as I did not feel like I had sustained those numbers.
Very much looking forward to sleeping in tomrrow. How was your workout?

110% from the w1 test is 292.
Interval 1 305
Interval 2 305
Interval 3 became 2 x 3'(1') as I had to pause because my cadence dropped. Both were still 305 though
15 minutes @ 85% to cool down
Got on the treadmill and made it 5 minutes before I decided to skip the run. I'm thrilled with my progress on the bike, so I'm not concerned about the lack of running at the moment.
110% is 275w for me:
Did: 273, 270, 278w for 109% overall
THen 15' @ 85%
my back is bothering me...so a day off for me. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Good luck everyone! Next week we see the massive results from all of our hard work.
And I'll go on record right now as saying I loved this clinic and all of your feedback/comments over the last several weeks. So thanks to RnP and all of you too!
Well today was a whole lot better than Tuesday’s work out. I took it easy on the run yesterday to let the legs get some life back in them.
I made it through all of the 3X6 with no breaks in the interval. The power level came out at 106% for all three. Last week the 3rd one was a mess and had to take a 15 second break. This week, I made it through all three with the 3rd one needing some significant focus for the last minute. Followed up with 15 min at 85%
I transitioned to the treadmill and did a solid 20 min at Z2 – Z3. The run felt good.
Mentally this was a good boost to have hit the intervals; it just confirmed that the Tuesday poor performance was the body saying it needed some rest.
Note to self – when the body says rest – LISTEN!!!
Matt
Hit 3 x 6' at 110% dead on. Only the last one seemed extra-tough. Glad to nail the intervals on one of these workouts!

320 watts was my bogey: 325, 317, 306. I needed a 10-12 sec "no pedal break" in there to deal with the fatigue/pain. My mental Fu sucked eggs today. I did find that when my HR hits 168 that my pain threshold gets easier to deal with but that is cooking for my heart. My run LT is 167-168 during a 5k. In other words....I'm not sure how long I can sit on 168 HR @ 82 rpms on the bike.
I'm taking in a movie, nap and generally hanging out in my Zero Gravity recliner with the ems on "recovery Mode" today to let the legs and body recover. I must have lousy genetics as my buddies also in my AG can hit it hard like this, ok...not quite this hard, and recover week after week. Well, we can only "run what we brung" as we used to say at the race track. ....seems like I'm losing fitness...but tomorrow is a new day. Thanks Matt.
