Tiny, little rusted screws

OK, I'm about to spend a few weeks locking down this run with HR thing.

But, I need a new battery in my Garmin HR pod thing that snaps on the strap.

But, I can't get the cover open b/c 2 of the tiny screws have rusted in.

What's that stuff that loosens this up?

Any other ideas?

well, based on what I just dropped it into....maybe guacamole will work, too.

Haha, your guac might be a little salty now!

Are you thinking of "penitrating oil" like PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench? WD-40 probably does the same thing.

Tried the WD 40. Not budging.

I'll try the liquid wrench today. May even drop by a watch/jewelry repair shop when we run errands this afternoon.

Wanted these HR numbers today to start locking in over the next few weeks. Damn, I hate it when my procrastination tendencies relapse.

It took 3 different jewelry people and about 20 min in CDA to open mine up. Goodluck!

Whatever you use, let it sit on the screws for several hours to penetrate before trying to turn those screws. When all else fails, use a hammer image

new one on it's way. should have it by Sunday's run.

the repair place wanted $25 to drill it out with no guarantees that they wouldn't mess it up. $35 on ebay for new with a warranty. Worth the $10.

Wonder how to keep my killa' sweat from doing this to the next one.

I'll start coating up that spot. worth a shot.

Not interested in buying a new HR mon/strap every time I need a simple battery change.
