What training plan is everyone on at present?

Hi there fellow IMLOU-ers!  Just thought I'd start a little thread here to see what everyone is currently doing.  I am doing the first week of the beginner 20 week IM plan.  Anyone else out there doing the same?  If so, how's it going?

  • I'm finishing my HIM New Orleans plan. After that, I'm gonna take a week off then start on week 16 of the 20 week plan. Looking forward to it!
  • Hi guys. I am on week 16 of the OS plan. Once I finish I am going to start at week 4 of the 20 week IM plan. Going pretty well so far!
  • All over the map but it sounds like you are all in good places....keep it up and keep us posted if you need help!

  • I'm getting ready for HIM Texas at the end of April and plan to take a week off after the race. Then I will jump into the the general prep.
  • Im on week 13 of 20 in anticipation of IMKS 70.3 on 6/6. Then rest the week after but be back to long ride per IM plan by the next weekend

  • Just like Michael I'm on week 13 of 20 for Moosman 70.3 on 6/6 - then jumping into the IM plan after that
  • Hello All.....I am on week 20 of 20 of outseason for the St Anthony's Triathlon on April 25th then its prep for IMLOU. I will probably do a couple of sprints in between. I have already entered the Miami 70.3 in October. This weekend I received a lottery spot from my tri club the St Pete Mad Dogs to participate in the 70.3 World Championships. Big question, how do you race two 70.3's two weeks apart? If anyone says you dont, I will just stick my fingers in my ears and do the lalalalalalalala!

  • I'm on week 5 of the HIM plan for Kansas 70.3 for the race on 6/6. After that, I'll transition a week and load up the last 11 weeks of the IM plan.
  • Sounds like all good stuff out there! Thanks for responding! I had hoped to be able to do Kansas, but am not going to. I will be riding the Louisville course hopefully, on May 22nd, with some folks from iamtri. Will be anxious to check it out.
On another note, how is everyone doing training wise?
  • I just re-read my last post, and thought I should clarify something. For anyone interested in learning more about the IMLOU course, and seeing pics, conversations, etc. from this year and last year, you can go to iamtri and join IMLOU. Bob Baney runs the group and it is free to join. The VERY COOL thing Bob does each year, is organize rides on the actual IMLOU course, and provides SAG for everyone! He has 4 dates scheduled through this summer, with May 22nd being the first one. If anyone wants to/can go to L'ville and ride all or part of the course, join the group on iamtri, and let Bob know you're coming down!
  • Thanks Barbara, I am a member of iAmTri and never even thought about looking up info on that site. Very good info from past participants.
  • You're welcome Richard! Hope you can make one of the rides!
