ToC Stage Maps are published!!
....and about friggin time!
Go here then route and stage info. I'll download all of these into zip file to get to everyone. We'll also have printed copies for everyone for the Tour.
I'm very excited about Stage 4. I rode this exact route on my motorcycle when I left Tom's house last year after a camp up there. The entire route is just stoopid scenic, especially Mines Road. Dan and Chris, Del Puerto Canyon is the road we took from Paterson in '08, but we rode east to west that year. Some of it was burned last year when I rode it but it should be very green with all the rain.
Stage looks a good bit flatter than I expected, with only one Cat 3 climb.
Anyway, look for a bigass download and some other stuff from me today

Will that mean a later or earlier start for us?
We will likely be on the road by 8am, no later than 8:30am, every day.
Scott if there is one thing I learned from last year it is that the pro's will catch you amazingly fast. You think 'oh come on I have a 5 hour head start' and then halfway through the stage you start seeing the sherriffs etc that are just ahead of them... So early = better

How much of Stage 1 do you plan on doing? FYI, the climb out of the canyon up into Cool has zero/little shoulder. All is good (from what I understand of the route) from Nevada City into Auburn and descending Old Forresthill Rd (I ride this area often) but once you take a left over the river and start the climb the shoulder goes away within 1 mile. That is probably the most significant climbing of the day.
