Aid Stations

Hi guys,

In past years the aid stations have supplied Gatorade endurance formula.  Does anybody know if this is still the preferred energy drink or have they switched to a different gatorate product?

Thanks,

Fergus

  • FAQ on the website still says Gatorade at the aid stations.  Certainly wouldn't be switching back to the non-endurance version, so safe bet that yes, it's still gatorade endurance.

  • I think Gatorade Endurance has been discontinued and replaced by Gatorade Pro something or other. I'm not sure what the difference is or what will be served.
  • yeah, they've renamed their product line.  The G-series Pro has a ready to drink product called "Endurance Formula", which I'm guessing is the same or substantially similar to the old Endurance.  Link here.

  • Thanks guys.

Now if only someone had a contact in Lazersport - makers of Tardiz helmet- to sort me out with a CPSC sticker for Helmet (bought in Europe).................

I've tried contacting them but no replies

  • Interesting timing, I just got an email from Ironman|Connect saying that PowerBar's new "Ironman PERFORM" will be the official sports drink for IMLP and several other events.

Bonus: "Ironman PERFORM" has No HFCS

Double Bonus: a case will be shipped to all registered athlete's homes by June 11 - so at least we'll get to try it out before race day.
  • I just saw that--an hour after I ordered two packs of Infinit! I'll probably stick with the Infinit anyway, though, at least for the bike.
  • i'll use infinit on the bike and whatever they have on the course for the run.
  • ditto.  may bring an EFS shot or something just to change things up on the run.  I'll miss gatorade endurance; I actually kinda like that stuff.

  • Do you know if all participants should have got that email as I didn't.  Did see the press release on the website though.

Really just checking up to see if I am due to get some sample product !!!

  • OK, what are HFCS?
  • Dana, HFCS = High Fructose Corn Syrup.  Hammer Nutrition products only for me - no simple sugars.

Fergus, I also received the e-mail about the Powerbar stuff so you might want to check your contact info.

  • Fergus, if I had to guess, I'd say they asked WTC for the US IM participants for that letter. Probably didn't wan't to get involved in shipping product overseas. Just a guess.

after gatorade endurance fell through for me i switched to chicken broth on someones recommendation. Seems it pulled me through the last half of the marathon and will definately do it again next year.  something to ponder............happy race execution
