Not much flesh on that boy, but such a cutie. Swoon.

  • I might have to come to keeps you ladies in line!

  • Just don't forget your "wing woman" responsibilities.
  • NnKnL, just remember that we didn't budget bail money into the price of the camp. You're on your own if you wind up the slammer with a stoopid grin on your face

  • I can't wait to see how a bunch of EN Chicas can up their game for TSD (total stalking domination). One of you could pretend to faint, the other's speak only Italian, crying for help...

So like when Coach Rich is flirting with Jens Voigt...Nemo, Leigh, and I "take one for the team" and keep the rest of the Saxo Bank boys company?

  • I'm just pumped I have wing-women this year!!! Last year I had the Halligan and well... he might have scared some of my protour boys away.

  • @Kitima, since this is the only Fabo-related post I could find, I wanted you to see what they're saying about your boy!

I just read that! Motorized bike, my butt! I told Spartacus he didn't need to get his bibs all in a wad over it...

  • I watched the video last night. Gotta say, when you look at the body language of Spartacus vs Boonen when he drops him on that climb...you gotta wonder is he really "that" much stronger than Boonen, was his gearing really "that" much better, etc. To me it looks like Spartacus is just on another level from Boonen, riding away from him with relaxed body language while Boonen is all over the bike. Makes you wonder about doping, mechanical or pharmacological. Just sayin'...

  • Okay, in defense of my ProTour boyfriend because he is just that dreamy and all...

I really don't think a battery powered generator that can power 190 pounds (Cancellara + bike) over 25 mph can be SMALL enough to be hidden within his bicycle.  Engineers chime in here as I am clearly speaking way outside my range of knowledge!  The battery in a Prius takes up most of its trunk...the battery of electric bicycles are large, heavy, and can barely get it to move over 10 mph.  Just sayin...

  • And a response from another blogger, who does some basic physics to explain...

  • I am highly skeptical of the mechanical doping but took a look at this video anyway. My thoughts:
The video first says he is pressing a button on his bars in one race and then says he is pushing a button on his shifters. Why the change?
Don't they weigh these bikes? I know their are weight minimums but would have to assume that they weigh the bikes before and after the races, especially for the top finishers. Because I know in one of these races, I think Flanders, Fabian did stop and take on a whole new bike. Would they have already weighed that bike pre-race?
I just don't think a little battery and engine could provide any real power to move the bike on its own. in the video the crank is moving but remember it is zero friction. Throw on a person and a road below and I doubt that the crank would move all that much. As Kitima says, car batteries are huge in hybrids and if some had developed a powerful, tiny motor to propel a biker at highs speeds, well let's just say they wouldn't be designing motors for bikes. They would be richer than anything designing car engines.
I read the analysis Scott provided and it makes sense. Fabian should easily be able to surge like that for a brief period of time. On my last ride I had a big surge for 10s as well on my way home as nature was calling. I was around 1000w and am certainly no Spartacus.
Also, isn't it possible Spartacus was just peaking at that time. I thought he won back to back. And from his performance at ToC he certainly wasn't in peak form.
Now the only thing I can possibly think could be true is that maybe, and I mean this in the slightest way, is that this little motor can give brief surge of 100w or so. Could help him surge and then maintain what he had. but I find this scenario highly unlikely.
I do love a good conspiracy though.
