Tri Rally Week schedule reorganizing

 Hiya - 

For those going to the Tri-rally or Coach Patrick - curious how people are thinking about reorganizing the week since the RR is on Friday instead of Saturday.  Right now I'm thinking I'm going to do my long run on Tuesday and do the long swim on Thursday before I hit the road for LP.  Thoughts?

    Went through the forums and got the info on NO modified training this week except the long run on Thursday. We can do that in Placid.
    I am thinking of having a plan B just in case I am toasted from plan A. Here it is, what do you all think.
    I plan to arrive early on Thursday to join in on the 4:00 optional run or do a swim.
    Friday: I plan on doing the 112 bike followed by the run.
    Saturday: I plan on doing one of the rides, but if I am toast from Friday, would a good Plan B be to do one loop of the IM course and one loop of run course???
    Sunday: Run with group or if toasted Swim and head home.
    Looking forward to the weekend. Barbara

     I like your thinking. For saturday, I have to see how I feel, or how my knee feels. As much as I would liketo do the epic ride saturday, I don't want to shell myself or reinjure/stress my knee. I really had to back off this weekend cause my knee was sore with riding. Does not hurt/get sore when I run. For me, it is such a fine balance at this point. I really want to make it to start and finish of LP

    Glad to hear you liked my idea. We will definitely connect on Friday and keep Saturday open for a shorter ride. I have the same goal as you. To make it start to finish. This is my first IM so I really do not know how my body will hold up. I will be 53 this month and although I feel I am in good shape, I know it takes me longer to recover these days. Have a good day.

  • Hi All,
    My plan as of now is to get up early and get a 'light run' tomorrow (probably about an hour). I'll probably be arriving at LP around 4-5pm. May swim or just take it easy, meet people at the social, and prepare for next few days.

    I'm looking to do the ride Sat and Sun, full length both days. I'd like to hook up with anybody running on Friday after, and then also get another run on Sunday morning. Hopefully at the Social tomorrow those looking to do the run's can maybe work out some paces and groups or something. Not sure what the coaches may have planned with that but I am sure there will be enough people at different levels we can get groups at different paces.
