Week 1/ week 9 - or 12 weeks to IMC

I officially started the IM program today and thought I would start a weekly thread for those interested in posting their training.

I kicked off this morning with a 55' run -2X1mile (8:57;8:35) they were supposed to be 8:44. The new vdot is definitely working me.

  • Hey Gordon,

Thanks for the motivation to finally exit lurk mode.

Went out at lunch today for 2 x 1.6km (don't let the imperialists drag you down! ).  A little overcast with a nice light drizzle made for perfect temperatures - felt really good - needed to dial the pace back a bit.

Swimming tonight with a local drop-in group that I started attending a few weeks ago - nothing like peer pressure to motivate a guy - sure beats swimming alone.

    12 weeks.  Damn!
  • @ Craig I think the imperalists may have me, my garmin and powertap are set to miles.  I'll probably have to change this for IMC although it no big deal with way.  I only swim in a 25M pool.

I got in a 1300M swim at lunch, shortened by quite a bit due to too much work.

  • I got in 2000M at the pool at lunch, not the total workout but most of it.

I just completed the 40' run z1-z2 stuff, mostly z1 as I was tired.

Now I just have to juggle the rest of the week after tomorrow.   Thursday am will be saturday's ride and the long run will be on the weekend. The reason I'm gone fishing Thursday through Wednesday.

  • Thanks for the weekly check in, this will make me accountable. I have gone completely ADD on the plan and have been doing nothing but lurking on the EN site as well. I can't believe how close we are getting the race day-it's gone pretty fast! I am on vacation next week - the following week I'll make like the rest of you and follow my plan like a good peep.
  • Hey Gordon, IMC is all in miles. That is to say, the bike markers (wearing paint on roads) are in miles and there is a marker-sign every mile on the run. A notable item for IMC is the bike special needs is 20 miles past 1/2way.
