12 weeks to Timberman 1/2

This kicks off the official training cycle for me for timberman, I hope this year turns out better than last year at least weather wise. I took yesterday off as I ran a half mary on Sunday and was feeling a little cooked. Swam today and I may just go for a walk tonight to stretch out the legs.

Wednesday night I should be doing a local TT which I will use to base my FTP for this training cycle.

Lets hear from anyone doing Timberman.

  • Hi Steven,
I'm actually in for Timberman this year and also doing IMLP (1st time LP, 3rd IM). So my training focus has been for IMLP, which will obviously carry over to Timber. I think it should be a good 4 week transition between the two...I'll take about 1 week off of complete rest after IMLP, one week of 'easy' workouts, probably try to hit 2 workouts in each discipline, one week of shorter/intense stuff, taper the last week going into Timber. First time doing that race so I'm excited to be doing two presitgious Im events on the east coast this year.

I did the IMLP rally this past weekend which was awesome and good prep. Keep us posted of how your training is going and I'll circle back closer to Timberman as my race prep for that becomes more specific.

  • Sounds good Sean,Good luck at LP

  •  I am registered for Timber and was looking forward to it but my super selfish sister in law is getting married that weekend.  I mean come on, did she really think it was OK to plan a wedding without consulting me?  Kids these days.  The fact that my wife is the maid of honor, our daughter the flower girl and son the ring bearer is making it really hard to convince her it is OK to skip it :-)

  • i  see that you have not part in the wedding so you could come by yourself

  • tell them someone has to help Hot Dog Man! image No timberman for me this year...but might be up there to cheer you guys on!
