Wheel Cover
Ok, I'm admitting this is probably going to sound like a silly question but I'm asking anyway. First a little history about me:
I raced my first IM on an 8speed road bike with nothing fancy on it. I had the fastest bike split (though not really fast - but under 7 hrs in madison) of the 3 of us that trained together and everyone else had zipps and tri bikes.
That being said - this year I have a tri bike - a Felt with a 30mm wheel set on it. Of course, a week away from the race, I'm having anxiety and doubts and an inferiority complex and wondering if I should rent zipps or get a wheel cover.
Thoughts....??? Talk me off the cliff or tell me yes, go ahead splurge, rent, etc.... thanks to all of you with more experience than me
Lisa
p.s. btw - my main goal is to finish but I would like to do just a smidge better than my first IM

Step away from the cliff. Honestly, what you have is fine and I wouldn't worry about it.
For IMs, I've done road bike with standard training wheels, aluminum tri bike with stock wheels, same tri bike with wheel cover, last year same tri bike - rented a zipp 404 for the front - wheel cover on back. This year - same bike, bought used Zipp 404 and stock wheel with cover on back.
What matters most is the engine!
EN rules (as I recall!)
(a) power meter first
(b) standard wheels with wheel cover on back
(c) if you can afford more, rent race wheels (but keep power)
(d) if you can afford more, buy fancy wheels (but keep power)
have fun!

Lisa, do you have an aerohelmet? That would be a good bang for your buck investment for you.
