Week 5 or week 13
Either way that's 8 weeks to IMC.
Last week was a juggling act as I headed to the lake with the inlaws over Canada Day. It was fun but my longest ride last week was 2 hours.
So hit the reset button and on to week 5. I go my 60' run in and will hit the pool at lunch.

week 4 was tough, but made it thru pretty much unscathed. I have a 12km climb here eerrily similar to richter that i used to do in 50min and am now hitting it in 40min.
of note my schedule for this week has 2 hr run thur and the bike goes to 4:30 on sat. don't see any issues but it is early in the week.
@Gordon if you could swim in a pristine lake 2 minutes from your home would you or would you hit the pool? I am trying to decide what will benefit me the most hit the lake 3-4 times a week for long-continuous swiims or stay in the pool work the intervals and do 1 long cont swim in lake.....
Tim,
I'm sure I would be temped to hit the lake more often. The open water swimming t would help with sighting as well. Here's what I would do... we are now pretty much in to the endurance swims with Monday having some speed (al least my beginners schedule is set up that way).
You know your T times. So just throw on your watch and do T+3 seconds for 500M. Stop check the watch, float for 20 seconds then continue on or back to where you came from for the second 500M. If you want to get in the speed work you pretty much use your golf score. I use 21-23 strokes/ 25M so. If I had to do 50 hard just count 44 strokes and then go easy for 44 or rest 10'.
Hit the pool once or twice a week to ensure that you are keep your T pace.

Okay who else doing IMC is lurking out there. Step on up and post your workouts or just let us know how things are going!
I had to get up extra early today to get in my 60' ride and 30' run as the boss was in town and had me in a 7:30 meeting.
I completed everything but took too much time downloading and looking at my stats after the ride and ended up 5 minutes late for the start of the meeting, oops.

Thur long run went for 2:08. Last 20minutes I could not hold my pace, hot here and likely a little fatigued from Wed.
Sat was a 4.5 hr ride with many intervals sets. Our best day for riding thus far out here on Vancouver Island. Solid effort but had to go 35min before I was able to get more water.
Sun I nailed my 2:00 APB ride. Felt real good considering yesterday's longer ride.
My schedule calls for a 6hr race dist ride this weekend. Humm, and a race rehersal on week 17 so I asked RnP for clarification.
This is my 4th IMC, I have been quite fit before but feel a lot stronger already testing the EN approach. Under my past training I'd be building 5-5:30-6hr rides right about now and we quite waisted doing 2-2:30 run sunday. Here it is 6pm sunday and I honestly don't feel too-too bad at all.
@ Tim nice work
I also headed out for the weekend rides. I got in 4:05 Saturday and felt shelled, mainly a sleep issues and hitting the FTP &80% intervals. Felt relatively good today for the 3h ABP ride. The only problem was as I was rushing out the door I forgot the powertap computer so todays ride was my first without power since week 2 of the OS. Considereing it was the ABP ride if figure it was no problem and I'd just push until I needed a break, rest refuel and repeat.
