Crazyness in Lake Placid

I am absolutely shocked at the number of people that were out riding the course today at noon and later. What's even nuttier is the number of people riding from town up the climb past the ski jumps, down to Keene... and then back up.

  • Sure is. It's a prelude to a race day blow up.
  • Last minute 'cramming' doesn't work in college exams or IMs. Let them wear themselves out, physically and mentally and you just follow the EN guidance and roadkill them on the run (if it even takes you that long to pass them tomorrow).

Since I didn't see an official "Good luck" thread here, I just want to say best of luck to all!
Count the roadkill, who's offering the prize this go around?!?
  • Yep...same for every Ironman, though you need to look for numbers or a race bracelet to be sure. Lots of non-racing athletes come to the races to spectate, volunteer or train

  • Most of the folks hammering up Jackrabbit hill this morning (me included) had no race numbers or bracelets. However, I did see one woman baking in her aerohelmet completely with race number at the first out-n-back before the climb to Wilmington---the farthest point on the course from town. Maybe she was staying in Ausable Forks...
