Quick ILMP 2010 mini race report - detailed report to follow

First of all, It was great to meet Coach P and the rest of the team and their families at the EN dinner Thursday night.

I had a truly great day out there yesterday. I did not know what to expect as it was my first IM, but I felt like EN (coaches and teammates) had prepared me for the day.

While everything did not go perfectly, I maintained my personal box, changing its size as needed and executed MY race and let the little details work themselves out.

I had a huge cheering section between friends, family, and my tri club. I had a really big smile on my face almost the whole day. What's better than that?

It was a great swim. I didn't get banged up to badly, i think it was fast for everyone.

I executed the bike well and went backwards on every hill catching passing the many of the hammerers on the downs.

I 'ran' the run, that's right I, only walked the aid stations, and ran every step in between. I was a 12 minute superstar at mile 18, but I was 'running' and taking count of people I passed (I lost track after 50).

My goal time had was originally 13 hours, but I after the race rehearsals I thought it might go to 14-14:30. The new goal was to finish while it was light out and that I did, with a total time of 13:30:59

I'll post a detailed race report after I get home, connectivity is sketchy here and this is the first chance I've had to sit in the SBUX for a few minutes.

Once again thanks to Rich and Patrick and everyone on EN for helping to make my first IM a great one.
