Smoke and Air Conditions around race site
Just got a report from my friends in Penticton:
Smoke is clearing again. Last night air quality was not good. There's lots of fire fighting planes flying around. The fire must not be too far away.
BC is under extreme fire hazzard conditions. The temps are supposed to go down with the comming wind but that could actually fan the fires. Remember 2003

Let's not fret about what's out of our hands i.e. forest fires. It's a rare year when the Okanagan Valley isn't under such an advisory. Several people I know raced in 2003 and chalked up PBs. Focus on execution.
Currently, per B.C. Ministry of Forestry and Range there is one fire in the general area of Keremeos where the bike course rolls through : Tweedle Creek ... 9 km south-west of Keremeos.
We'll be fine on race day.
Well the smoke just blew in to Saskatoon this morning and I'm a 17 hour drive from Penticton. I guess I get to try out my lungs in the smoke this afternoon for a 40 minute run.
I do currently like the temperature forecast but won't get too excited as we are still not that close for weather predictions to be accuracte.

It was staggeringly bad here in Edmonton yesterday and I had the same thought "it's this bad 12 hours NE of the race?!?" But prevailing winds, etc. are a funny thing so I kept Allessandro's advice in mind. Not going to fret over it, but am probably going to take Allegra as preventative measure. Haven't taken it all year, so tried on my last RR and will pop a few more this week to ensure my body knows how to deal with it.
