Questions about Plans for a new member

I am new to EN and had a few relatively simple (I hope) questions.  I am doing the 14-day trial and want to maintain membership after.  I also want to do an off season plan starting in mid to late Oct and then transition into an IM plan for next season.

The questions :

A) does the 14 day trial turn into a membership?  I know there is a limited window open for joining and wanted to see if there is anything more I need to do in order to become a full member of EN.

B) as a member do I automatically have access to a general plan or do I need to then suppliment the membership with a specific plan?

Thanks to those of you whom have been here for a while willing to help guide us as we try to process all of this!

  • Hm. RnP can tell you more about how the back end works, but, with membership, you have a weekly plan loaded in -- when you are not doing the Out Season, I believe it is basic week, but you have to have a race specified.

We also like to start the OS in groups -- it is way more fun/effective that way. There will be a big group starting to January. What IM are you doing?
  • Just to be clear, you don't need to buy any extra plans after membership, they should all be available to you via the online training plan central in the weekly format. Just like Beth said, you choose a plan and enter in a race/completion date and it will be loaded into your dashboard / training plan central. This is a little different then how you'd access the plans if you bought them a la carte outside of EN, in that case you'd get the complete plan in a PDF with some supplimentary information since it is assumed that you would have pretty limited interaction with the coaches from that point forward. Inside of EN, you of course have the coaches and the other members to address any micro or macro level concerns questions you have with the plan as you tackle it.

Also, about OS, aren't November and January the 2 biggest OS groups? Looks like he'd be all set there.

  • Thanks for the information. I just got an note from Coach P and he suggested I take the following action:
12 week Beginner plan ending on Oct 10 and then start the OS in Nov. But the problem I have now is that everytime I set this, it doesn't seem to "take". I then come back to the "My training plan central" tab and it says "no plan". Am I doing it wrong or do I need to log an issue in the admin thread?

As for what races next season, after Oct 10 I have to sit down with my significant other and see what she will support! I plan on a 70.3 in the spring and then maybe do IMLou again. Just ideas now... dependent on what she will tolerate (she may pick a more exotic location to stand around all day in!) and what is open.

    Again thanks for the support!
  • Sounds, good, Brian. You will have lots of company in the November OS! I'd email Patrick again about the tech issues -- I'm sure he'll be able to fix easily.

  • Hey Bryan,

This trial membership process is brand, brand new. You're the first person to go through it so are likely experience a couple bugs. A few things:

    • When you created your trial you did so with a credit card. You will be billed for your first month's membership at the end of your 14-day trial, automagically, unless you actually cancel your trial membership.
    • At that point, we'll send you an email and being to officially get you started.
    • Until you are an actual member, ie, have paid us, you won't be able to manipulate or view any of the training plans available to the members.
    • Finally, you may experience issues like "now I can see this, click on that, go here...and now I can't, those links are no longer valid." Again, that's us behind the scenes configuring switches and whatnot in preparation for a much bigger influx of trial members expected next week.

With regards to the plans, etc, membership is $99/mo and that includes open access to all of our plans. There is no need to purchase anything else, there are no hidden costs, etc.

Hope this helps, let us know if you have any additional questions!
