Wow...WTC bought this race?  Is this a good thing or bad?  Do you think it will make the race better or worse?  I was looking at it for '11 (will probably do it no matter what).

    Conventional wisdom is that 2 things are likely to happen:

    1. Price will go up
    2. Number of participants will go up

    Like it or not, WTC brings in the racers. I guess in a bunch of these races, WTC has kept the local race directors in place, but just brought in brand and volume of participants. Seems like a win-win except for paying more $$ to race.

    I thought it was interesting that 1. it's "only" $200 bucks until the end of the year. Think I defnitely paid more for Steelhead in 09. And 2. that they were still running the sprint distance, since I don't remember seeing that before with a 70.3. From what I heard it was a well-run race, but obviously in the middle of nowhere Indiana, so I can see the bonus of having it branded. This is going to be my A race next year (need to tone down the tri-spending so I'm staying as local and cheap as possible). Let me know if you end up doing it Andrew image

    I ended up signing up for Muncie. It will be my A for 2011, and first HIM (never did IM either). Who else is in? Did you get a place to stay yet? Where? When are you going? I'm thinking of getting there Thurs sometime...

    Andrew- I think that we have quite a good group doing the race this year. Stay tuned for when the 2011 groups get set up and I'm sure there will be plenty of chatter.

    As for me, I'm just planning to go up Friday, not sure if I'll stay Saturday night too or go home. Might depend on what is planned for the weekend. I haven't gotten my hotel yet, but will probably do it sometime soon.
