Home Group Discussion-OutSeason October 2010

The October OS Sign-In Thread!!

The OutSeason....a magical time of year when TeamEN quite retires to their Pain Caves, get to WORK, politely smile and nod when their training partners admonish them for not building their base October through February, then emerge in March to rip their legs off and beat them over the head with bloody stumps .

October OutSeason:

  • Begin: Monday, October 4th, 2010
  • Finish: Sunday, February 20th, 2011

Go here for our thoughts on when to start your OS.

Not sure? Ask us in the Macro Thread

ARE YOU IN?

  • Sign in via this thread, with name, city, state, and flavor of OS you're doing (Beg, Int, Adv)
  • Give us your race schedule for next year, identifying your A-race(s)
  • State your end of OS fitness goals, maybe even your 2011 season goals
  • Consider updating your signature to reflect goals and races above.

The October OS Group (we'll fire up an official Group soon, just want to start doing this here now where you'll all see it)

  • My name is Mike Cohen. I am a new member. I live in Eau Claire Wi, about 90 min. west of MSPL.I do not know how to use this website yet, so I do not know if the msg. I sent here earlier ever got anywhere. My plans for 2011 are to do the EC 1/2M in May, the Scheels High Cliff HIM in June, my "A" race of the Door County HIM in July, the Stillwater MN HIM in Sept. and, if I can get in and feel up to it, the Twin Cities Marathon in Oct. I just got into TRI's in 2010 after years of being solely a marathoner. I am looking to improve on my HIM time of 5:17 significantly. My goal is to go about 4:45. I want to be able to find the time to commit to training to be able to do a full iron distance race in the Fall of 2012. It sure seems that this is doable with the help of EN. Look forward to working with the Team starting in Oct.!

I'd like to be in the 12's at AZ so my goals are hit the numbers I'll need to do that time. I'd like to get to 150 lbs, a loss of about 8. I'll be working on my season plan this weekend. there may be a 1/2 marathon in Feb. Co. state swimming champs in April. There is a duathlon series and a swim/run series that I'll do as well as several tri's and open water swims. I'll fit those in and pick races to get me to my AZ time goal.
guess that's about it for now. I'm excited to start!
