actually I got caught in the storm and somehow sick sick I like running when the winds are high and it is about to storm.. it feels sorta magical! and this morning's sky was gorgeous, red sky and twinkling lights in orange and purple on our pedestrian bridge that is 1 mile long!! so running across the Arkansas River the only one with winds coming across well it is way cool! yes way windy this morning... I got seriously drenched and with the winds my ponytail felt like cattails against my face! and my clothes plastered to me and shoes sopping wet as it came down so fast that the roads were not draining! hee... two other girlfriends and no kidding... way fun. 19mph wind gusts. 74 degrees and dropping. and Oh, stopped in at Mcdonalds wet, to pick up bfast for my bday son, 17 yrs. do you know how many people are in line for mcdonalds??? wow and you know nothing is hardly healthy on the menu!!! they were piling in.

Back from week R&R in Sedona, AZ, beautiful part of country, a recumbant bike in condo gym using HR not same as my trainer/ PM or else just a bad morning: X2 on the bike ouch factor, couldn't hold watts beyond 10' on second interval, run was gimpy. Felt great after shower and an egg sanwich....

As to running, I went to the doctor three weeks ago and got permission to start building up to running again. I did some power walking for the first two weeks. I felt really fast with those 15 minute miles
Great bike workout at the track last night ...
Did the intervals (2x12) in among the organized track stuff. Felt pretty decent, so decided to stay for the so-called 'motor game'. Basically, they put a modified scooter/motorbike on the track and it goes at a prescribed speed, usually increasing, for 40-80 laps or so. First instance goal is to stay with the motor, second is to try to attack to gain a lap (or laps) on the motor .. and final goal, if possible is to compete in the sprint at the end. This instance was 50 laps ... 15 @ ~22mph, 15 or so @ ~24 mph, 10 @ ;~26 and the last 10 (esp. the last 5) are nearly a free-for-all at 28+ winding up to a big bunch kick on the last lap.
I've finished with the motor group or within 5 laps of the end ... last night was the first time (in probably 20 attempts) that I was able to get a lap
... and get back in line and still hang onto the group when they wound it up ... The work on the bike surely seems to be working!!
Had pretty heavy legs for the run this AM ... but got it done. 2x1 @ LTHR and 45 min total duration.
Good job. I did 2x1 @ Threshold Pace and then stopped. Finally caught up to the plan, was a day behind the last week b/c of a half marathon at the end of week 2. Can't wait to get through the bike tomorrow and rest Friday!
2x10(3) were tough today, but I got them in. Now to pack for a 3 day kayak trip down the uWharrie River woot!
