Oct OS week 6, Nov 8

I haven't logged on for a while cuz my legs were dead from a weekend race; then RnP changed the login link.

So, I'm a day late, but still managed the 2x15min @221W.  My brain wouldn't let me try to creep the wattage up for this one.

I hope the lack of posts is not a sign of burnout....

  • Nice to get back in the saddle all be it a week behind ya'll. Had a great bike (2x12" Z4, 15' Z3 no PM)/run workout yesterday and run (2X1/2 M TP, 1X1M TP 15' HMP) workout today. Legs seems to be recovered from the marathon and my head seems to be doing alright as well. Looking forward to doing a full week of OS work-outs without adding volume.
  • Tuesdays bike workout was pretty brutal. I guess the legs weren't very fresh after the half marathon on Sunday. I must be stronger though because I made it. Don't think I could have done that at the beginning of the OS.
  • Tough ride today, Short intervals with the wind, long intervals (Z3) against the wind.  Would up a few miles short and had to continue to trudge home, the day after I say that the Z3 stuff isn't too bad for me it kicks me in the gut.

    Time to eat, relax and rest up legs for tomorrow's run, looking forward to that and having monday off!

    How has everyone else's week been?

  •  Hard week to get in my training.  Went to our Wisconsin plant to be the evil inventory verifier.  I hate being the bad guy.  I did get today's  in.  Went to insane weekend warrior core class after bike and run.  I'm digging around for Motrin.  Really looking forward to nailing it next week. 

  • Great bike workout today. Staying at the upper end of power range - that might be because I missed Thursday's ride. Still going easy on the run times. Calfs are sore from the 1/2 6 days ago.

    I did something fun today - work intervals on the drainer, then hit the road for the zone 3 stuff. New road bike, 40 degrees in mid November in Canada, testing my ability to hold wattage over time - couldn't resist. I hope to be able to get another workout like this in.

  • Went out of town for the weekend and brought my bike. I didn't know the area so I ended up hitting a bunch of stop signs and lights during the intervals and didn't have the best workout, but at lease I got something done. I finally found a neighborhood where the houses haven't been built and made it my private track image got in a good set of the 85% intervals. Used this area again for my running the next day and had a great workout.
  • Had to do the bike workout yesterday on the drainer because of rainy weather , then a run on the dreadmill last night. Today its beautiful out, and was able to get my 50 min run in while checking out the brilliant colors in the trees! Fall in NC can be pretty or pretty nasty. 6x800 's done at z4. Felt great although the last one dropped off by a few seconds.
