Oct OS Week 14 - Testing Week!

FTP test completed and legs are trashed - as expected.  Nice 5% jump in FTP, now the new zones are looking a little more concerning!

How has everyone else done on the FTP so far this week?  Lets see who gets nice bumps on FTP and VDot!

Good luck everyone

Steve

  • Nice work!!!! Had a small drop in my overall speed on the bike test (21.2 mph). Headwinds were an issue and it was 34 deg. However, its still quite a bit higher from the start of the season. All indications are that I will see some serious gains on my VDot with all the track work under my belt.
  • Just got off the trainer and raised my FTP by 10 from Nov so pretty happy with that. However with my holiday weight gain it did not help my watt per Kg!! Will get that weight off soon.
May not do VDOT testing since I ran a recent 5k and my work schedule is a bit crazy this week...ie I dont want a bad test.
  • Nice work guys. Love seeing the gains people are making. Finished the tests this week. Got an 18 watt and 2 vDot point increase. Gives me some more motivation to keep hitting the workouts hard. Can't believe we are already through 13.5 weeks of the OS.
  • Keeping it alive. No improvement in the VDOT, but I'll take it. 21:49 = 44.8. As it was on a boring inside track, I hope my racing times would actually be a little bit faster. Will see soon enough. Back to resting!
  • Keep up the good/hard work everyone. I am racing on the weekend, so won't test for 3 weeks. I'll keep posting here as I am interested in your progress and future endeavors.
  • Up 3 VDOT points from November and up 7 overall (39 to 46). I've met my VDOT goal for the OS, so I now I get make a new one!!!!

    Nice work everyone!

@CR- Good luck this weekend! If you do a race report make sure you let us know where we can find it.
  • Great job all looking forward to testing myself next week.
  • Great Job everyone! Upward we go!

  • That 3X10 after testing is always something special aint it?

  • Nice work all on the tests, great to see good results.

I had a good bike test, up 9% from last test to 302w, now 3.4w/kg. Run test ok, legs still pretty tired - that 5km TT really hurts doesn't it? Anyway 40sec improvement to 20:50, VDOT up to 47.5 from 45.7.

Rest of the week must admit was nice to be back to FTP work, 3x10 hurt but in a good way, actually quite enjoyed the Sunday FTP run as well, nice to be back to Z4 from the Z5 sprints..

    Cheers all
