Thoughts on expanding this ride

My hopes for this ride was to get us up to about a dozen riders, that way if we have splits in the group, likely we would still have 3-4 in each group.  So far, we have 6 signed up and it appears the energy to jump in has waned.  Do those of you that have signed up have a favorite riding buddy that you would like to invite.  I had hoped to keep this primarily EN, but looks like we don't have that level of interest so far.  Let me know what you( the group signed up already) think about opening this up to get 6 or so more riders.  When I talked to the hotels to negotiate rates, I mentioned we should have 10-12 riders needing 6-8 rooms.  Where I live, we have a huge tri comunity and I'm quite sure if I advertise this ride, I can get some more to join, but lets put our heads together and see if it makes sense to invite our buddies first.  Thanks

    I'm in the Charlottesville Tri club. I would love to send out an invite to my buds. Most likely we would see more folks interested in just the weekend part of the trip. Let me know...

    OK, lets try this, anyone signed up, invite 1 friend/riding buddy. We'll give it a couple weeks and see what happens. You are responsible for communicating with them. The google docs is open to anyone with a link, so if they say they are in give them the link so we can coordinate. Since we use this forum to communicate and they won't have acces, you will need to keep them posted on all news. Thanks

    Great Beverly! The more the merrier, especially if they are local to C'ville. lets give the rest a chance to invite and then if we have more room we'll go with more. This should be fun!

    We've got 7 signed up on the Google Doc so far. I'd like to see about 12 riders rolling out. That way we can have a good chance to keep at least a couple riders in contact with each other, make sure the hotels realize some value from the discounts they offered us, keep a good level of support going, etc. So, I'd like to see about 5 more. The only deadline I'm working with is the morning of May 18th, but the hotels only promised to hold the block of rooms until April 27th or so. So, realistically, I think it best to set the deadline for April 15th.

    Dave - The goggle doc now has 8.  I finally got off my butt and signed up.  Will make reservations next week.  I will pass info to several friends.  Thanks for your hard work.

    I just sent out an invite (first come, first served, I said) to the Charlottesville locals. We'll see if there is some interest.

    Unfortunately, I will not be able to make this ride.    I realized the other day that I had previously obligated myself to be a USA Triathlon head official for a race on Saturday.  I had submitted the schedule months ago and just found out the schedule.  Sorry.  Good luck to everyone.
