Sunday Lunch-Brunch Meet and Greet

Originally posted by Coach P in the Northeast>Boston Marathon thread:

We are looking to do a Sunday lunchtime "thang" to pull all the Boston folks together before the race. I hope this works with everyone...last year we had quite the turn out. Please chime in if you think you can / want to join us.

Please note: racers, family and locals are welcome!!

Would be Sunday. Lunchtime. Across street from Hynes/Prudential. So between 12-2pm...place TBD!

  • Thanks for posting this Steve. I am thinking of the Atlantic Fish Co as they have decent food and will have just opened. The website is here: http://www.atlanticfish-restaurant.com/, the menu is here: http://www.atlanticfish-restaurant.com/index.cfm?pid=10245

    Any objections?
  • I hope we can make the lunch. Not sure yet and may not know until that weekend. The restaraunt looks great! Just checked out the menu.
  • A little pricey but what a great menu. Will we need to make reservations?
  • I might be able to swing this. I am glad to see that they have baked potatoes!
  • I will make a reservation...I will survey for numbers shortly and we'll go from there!
  • I am gluten intolerant, so hopefully I will be able to find something that will not upset my stomach, but this is not your problem. Steven and I will be there.
  •  Seemed to work well for everyone last year, P!  I'll certainly come by to least hang for a bit.  Not sure the fam will join me, or that I'll eat as we have a very early dinner reservation...but, iced tea and a seat for sure.

  • Just letting you all know that Steve and I will not be at the Lunch-Brunch meet and greet. We will be flying out on a red eye Wed night and arriving early Thursday am. We will go to my sister's home in NH for the weekend. We will drive in Friday to register when they open and then back to NH until Sunday midday. Church Sunday am, hang out with my family and then drive to Dave Corso's( EN) place in the afternoon. He is hosting us for the night. Our kids are the same age so Madison will have a ball with them while we race. I want to keep everything as simple as possible. Adding in the lunch would make our Sunday rushed and complictaed. I hope you understand.

  • Carrie, bummed, but totally get it. The only way you can possibly make up for this is hosting me during the TOC. image Travel safe today!
  • Of couse we understand. Like Coach said "Bummed, but totally get it". Not much different than running your own race/pace. Maybe we wiil see you at the athlete's village.
  • Guess I'm a little slow sometimes.... I didn't realize the "Invite" was closed... and I never signed up...

Coach P, is it too late to add me +2 to the list?
