Stand up and be counted!

I know there are about 10 of us running Boston and I thought it would be helpful to know where everyone will be at the start.  Also, in keeping with the EN character thought we might put our selves on record as to what we were planning on in terms of finish time.

Granted things can and do go bad before or during a race, do-do happens.   Aside from that, everyone here has some goal in mind.  It might be a safe bet or a stretch - put anything you're willing to be accountable for.

Personally my training has been going very well and I am at 100%.  Plus my 2 recent PR's have given me the courage to Go Big.  My goal is to set another PR - this one at Boston, beating my qualifying time that got me here.

I put up a spreadsheet here

OK peeps, time to stand up and be counted!

Comments

  • Counted!  Truthfully, I'll be content with anything in a +/- 5' range.  If I feel good at the HM mark, then I'll start to play the numbers game.  If not, I'll mail it in, and seek out some tall, frosty pleasure in the first bar I come across.  Actually, I'll probably do that regardless of how I finish.

    Anyone else?

  • Oh good Lord. I do not want to play this game. I am currently just so happy that my foot feels good and I was able to run 8.5 miles today at track and do some speedwork. I am just grateful to be running painfree. I am fit enough to run a sub 3:15. I am confident about that. Will I do it at Boston? Who knows? I qualified in a 3:27 so there will be " traffic" to get through and I don't plan on trying to fight my way through right from the start. I want to be in the moment and enjoy the race. Whatever I end up with I hope to do with a painfree foot and no massive implosion. How is that for a very non concrete answerimage?!?!

I AM JUST SO HAPPY TO BE RUNNING PAINFREE!!!!!
  • I'm with Carrie. My left leg is on again off again, and I am not sure how it is going to be on the day of the race. I do however hope to come in under 4 hours. Kinda vague time goal I know, but how about between 3:45 and 4hours. Good enough boys?
  • I am with Brenda! Between 3:45-4:00 is good for me! I hope we can run together Brenda.
  • Come on people quit with all the modesty. Put it out there . I qualified with a 3:26:01 my goal would be to re qualify with a 3:30:59 or better. The dream and hope would be a PR better than my BQ. Mind and Heart over matter!

Good SKill to all your all more than ready. Tim,
  • @ Tim - post your time to the spreadsheet at the top of the thread..... unless your too modest, just sayin.... =:-]
  • OOPs didnt see the link. Went with dream of a PR by one minute 1 second LOL. I never claimed to be smart! Never!
  • Okay, I ante'd up. Realistically, I would be happy with a smart marathon, which always seems to be my problem.  Bigger problem is hoping that my IT band doesn't act up.  It has become cranky over the past couple of weeks after a couple of missteps during a trail run.  Praying at the altar of the almighty foam roller, tp roller,  and massage therapist at the moment.

  • Done! I am on the fence about how to run it...but I put the goal time out there. Fingers crossed! As of right now it's due to be 51, partly sunny and a 14mph tailwind. image
  • 51, hum, let me see. That is 9 celsius, which is nice running weather. I also like the tailwind BUT that could all change in a heart beat. I will bring everything and hope it turns out to be just like Coach P says it is suppose to be.
