I'm staying in Waikoloa from Oct. 1 through the 9th. I'm planning on a ~3 hour ride from Waikoloa to Hawi and back at 10 am Sunday morning, which is about when I'd be doing it during the race, if anyone wants to join me. My brother will be with me on a rented road bike. I'm sure most of you are quite a bit faster than I'll be.

On Thursday the dinner starts at 6 PM and the Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting is at 8 PM.

@Keith: We will be flying in on Sunday at 11 AM and staying Waikoloa also. My bike won't arrive until Tuesday via TriBikeTransport.

EN meeting @ 5 PM and skip the dinner, then go to the madatory meeting?

For some reason I thought we had more Kona folks racing...but I think some of them aren't really online or in this group (yet). Please spread the word!

Look guys --Thursday is the official welcome diiner at 6 pm--meeting for another dinner at 5 pm is crazy and does not work.I intend to do the official one and enjoy it without being rushed and it makes no sense to turn up for an EN dinner/meet for 30 minutes.Wednesday was good as initially suggested.

Ah, love the Team. Listen folks, I want to be able to see you guys and chill out. I personally have done the Kona dinner and it's cool but it's an IM dinner. BUT, as a first timer you gotta do it...I get it. If we go Wednesday, we miss 3+ folks. If Thursday dinner is out, want to make it a Team lunch date at Lava Java? OR better yet, maybe a big carboload breakfast on Friday AM?

I don't plan on going to the IM dinner. The meeting is a definite maybe. Are they going to tell us anything that we don't know? Seriously.

I would like to meet everyone at some point --- so if it is breakfast on Friday, that is cool too. Thursday lunch won't work, though, b/c I have been told I will be out on a snorkeling trip that morning.

lunch Thursday or breaky friday is good for me--Eric--time to make a decision Patrick ! that's what managers get paid for!!!if that doesn't work it'll be a quickie for drinks Thursday evening before taking off for the official dinner for which I also have a ticket for my wife--IM makes enough out of me without wasting it!

Okay, here's the update!!! We are doing a TEAM BREAKFAST at 8AM at the Aloha Theater Cafe. It's a great place and it's off the beaten path, so no geeks and no lines. Great food here..it's my usual POST race place, but this is better. If you need a ride out there we can text/chat race week via the GroupMe app.

Coach P, I will be there with my husband. Just filled out the info in the registration form. The doc. acted funky and I couldn't fill all the info in the same line...
