Hey - we are at "Hump Week"! Be sure to see Patrick's Podcast for this week. He puts what we are doing into the big picture and gives some good encouragement. image

  • Had a great wko - surprising since a stray alarm went off last night at mid-night. Time to play detective and figure out which one needs another new battery!

4 X 2.5' (2.5')@ Z5 then 5 X 4'(1') @ Z3 for an hour. Hit all my targets and then hopped on the dreadmill for my 20' of Z1 and a few strides.

Supposed to be another cold one tomorrow (>32) and windy - but I'll be out on the roads since there won't be ice!
  • I too jumped to the 4x2.5' today all at >120.  Hard, but not as bad as I thought it would be.  Finished w 18' @ Z3.  Hopefully the run tonight for decompression after work today.

@Joe:  Be sure to bundle up.  That sounds terribly chilly (18 years in CA has destroyed all of my New England cold weather tolerance!)

  • I was absolutely DONE after only 5' of on time today...had to get off the bike. My legs are fried! I actually almost cried as I climbed on the bike today! LOL!! I have only bagged 2 workouts so far this whole OS, and this was my 2nd. Just could not do it. It probably did not help that I did my 3x1m yesterday because of an all day conflict on Sunday. Yes, I have learned my lesson. This VO2 stuff is not joke! Now, to just get my head around Th and Sat! Aaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
  • @Annie and Lynne - that's how I feel about the VOMax runs! Like taking medicine that doesn't go down easy!

Today's bike was not as strong as Tuesday, but still hit my targets. After work, it's my strength routine to get in my 100/100 plus some other stuff. Interesting, although today is a big day at work, after my morning workout I feel as though it's "all downhill". That's what 10' @ Z5 can do for my attitude!
  • Those 2 X20' (4') @ Z4 and 4 X 2.5' (2.5') @ Z5 smoked me like a cheap cigar! But, I got'em done and thought, "I'll be ready come week 14" for like the last 10' of each Z4. The Z5 was a struggle and overall this was way, way harder than last weekends bike/run!

The run after - Z2 was more like Z1. But, I got throught the first mile and cranked it up to Z2 and hit my targets. Now to rest up for tomorrow's wko!
