Re: What is the EN Swim Threshold Standby?
50's and 100's, very hard. Don't compare the swim to the bike and run. Think of it as running track work, but at a much higher intensity because swimming is non-impact. That is, your swim workout is the equivalent of a healthy season of 200's, 400's and 800's at the tracks, with laps around the track at a decent pace to… -
Zipp 404's 650's
I am about to put up my Zipp 404's 650's on ebay and I thought I would see if anyone wanted first crack at them. They a about 4 years old and mostly ridden for races. These are the wheels and skewer, no cassette or rubber. If you like I can get you some pictures. Putting on ebay with a buy them now for 800 but will… -
Re: Week 9 questions.
I believe the recommended off percentage is 60%. So Vo2 max at 120% and off time at 60%. it's not like the FTP intervals where you get 2-4' of what ever you want to recover. @ Jeff - I'm not sure you want to start on the 30/30's. There was just better results from the longer vo2 interval so if you start with 30/30's you… -

Re: tire size discussion with elitist, moron REI bike shop emloyee
Bill, Yes I agree that there are some 23's that are better than 20's you just have to take a look at the crr chart of tires and make sure you invest in typically is on the first page of that list. Sorry I don't have the link right now but will try to look it up. Another aspect is the confidence in not getting flats… -

Re: New Bike for travel?
Hasan, I think you are better off going the S&S coupled system rather than the Ritchey. My wife and I have a coupled tandem and I built both bikes we are riding now with S&S couplers. I just drew up plans for a tri bike with couplers for my wife to replace her road bike with clipons. We use the S&S hard case, airline… -

Swim Golf ... is doing "S-Stroke" cheating .... or does it makes sense?
Was just reading yesterday the EN swim ebook and golf score, i wonder if doing "S-Stroke" is actually cheating for Swim Golf, because I really suck if iI do not. Tested today (25m pool, moderate/hard effort, after Mainset 20x50m (25m) ) with S-Stroke 36-38 strokes at ~47sec without 44-46 strokes at ~50sec. S-Stroke good to… -
Re: New multi-purpose wheelset for road bike - Considering Zipp 202s or Zipp 303s. Thoughts?
I race triathlon on either Zipp FC808's or an 808/disc combo. I like their wheels. I recently got a good deal on a used set of 303's and am very happy with them. They are a great "All Arounders" and give you decent aero effects if you're alone or in a break-away, but are also fairly light for climbing. 202's are even a bit…
