Folks, just got the good word about the Chris Gleason Memorial logistics for the Philadelphia marathon coming up. For those of you new to the Team, we lost one of our own Chris Gleason, last year. He died of a sudden heart attack at mile 25. There are quite a few folks running in his memory, and now we have a chance to connect there. If you are going to be there, I hope you can connect with us all!

Philly Marathon 2012 ~ November 18th

On behalf of Jenny – thank you to everyone who is making an effort to run or attend this year’s marathon in honor of Chris.  The marathon organizers have generously provided a tent for Chris’ friends & family either running the marathon to ‘finish’ it for Chris – or those who are coming to cheer on their loves ones.  Below are some logistics- but, we will have more info as we get closer.  

Note: Jenny, Ashley & Matt will be with Chris’ sister, Cara, and the Gleasons at Disney in Florida – a place where they have great memories with Chris.  She wishes she could be in two places at once – but, we will take pictures of the group and send them to her.  

Team Gleason Tent Location:  Between 21st & 22nd Street – Finish line is on 22nd Street.  

*The route of the marathon/finish line is that runners will be finished at 22nd and then will approach 21st.  So our tent will be located shortly after the runners finish.    

*Tent will have signage - Team Gleason

*A map from the marathon operations people will be sent to Karrie and she will forward to the group as we get closer.

*Karrie will arrive around 5:30am on Sunday  – to get our tent site set up

* Eric is running the half marathon – and will join Karrie afterwards at the tent

Encourage others to:

Join us at the tent before or after the marathon ~ The more the merrier – Chris would want us together

There is comfort in numbers, and if you are in Philly for the marathon and would like to support others who are running it – come by the tent before or afterwards.

Set up an email list so everyone going can be in the loop and can be together.  Include Karrie & Jenny so they can share any information as it relates to the tent with everyone.  (jennyfergleason@gmail.com kborgelt@upenn.edu )
