Had it with Garmin ANT/power Tap. Anyone else?
I use A Power Tap hub and run it with my Garmin 310XT. I put my Garmin on y Bike in T1, turned on and paired up with power tap. NEVER FAILS It loses connectivity during the race. It gets flaky and reads minimal to no power for a great deal of HIM to full IMs. Thus, I don't have data to race by or to recap by.
Has anyone experienced this with these two pieces of gear? Any ideas, thoughts, input. It has happened on my training wheels, too, and I even had the hub replaced on my race wheels. But in race yesterday the demon was back!!

Also, do you pair in transition? There are many other units in that area and you may have paired with another unit? Probably not, but I try and pair in my garage way before the race many miles away from other units.
I definitely had some issues with the 310xt early on. I ruled out the batteries on the PowerTap and did some research on troubleshooting, and after reading a post or two I did a hard reset and started from scratch. Suddenly my 310xt was happy to pair permanently with any device that could speak Ant+ and would buy it a drink: imac, ptap, hrm, speed-cadence sensor.
My recommendation:
Check your batteries unless you know they are new.
Hard reset and see if that solves the problem.
If not then: hard reset, download the latest firmware, and see if that solves the problem.
Details on how to reset and how to download firmware are in the booklet; there are also youtube videos that will show you how to do it.
Let me know if you need more specifics, and let me know how it goes.
Yes as below. Try different computers. Always replace batteries of hub before every important race. Reset computer and updte firmware.
Will let y'all know if/when it is resolved.
Thanks!
I do use both a 310XT as well as a garmin 500 for the bike leg. The 310 allows me to see throughout the race where I'm at, during the swim, bike, run, overall... but it's too hard to read while riding in aero. I totally rely on my 500 while on the bike.
