Week 18!
Ok, team, we're in the home stretch now! I know Pete and Tom are here - who else is still hanging on in this fine OS group?
The 2x20s this morning were tough, and I admit my run was 30 minutes but easier than the coaches wanted it, but at least I got it done. I had a little motivation problem last week but I seem to be back on it this week. We're almost in the home stretch!
How is everyone else doing?

Hey Kristen!
I'm another non-IMSG October OS member, toughing it out till the very end!
The 2x20s were tough for me too, tho it kinda felt like a practice FTP test, and gave me some confidence for the real test coming up in week 20...
I've been pretty consistent lately because I've got a half-mary this weekend as a C race, but I'm still thinking about trying to see if work really works and going for a PR cause I'm crazy
wow..I can't believe we've been doing this for almost 5 months! Time flies when you're having fun, right?
Good luck this week all you remaing Oct OS peeps!
Holy Crap, what a week!
Two sick kids, a sick wife, 2 18-hour days at work (including 20-hours of windshield time), plus major changes at work. What else can happen? Oh wait, preparing for a potential blizzard in the NE. I am ready for this week to be over...... With all of this I only managed to get in a single 1 hour run. I have decided to use this week as my transition week and give myself a 2-week head start on the race prep session.
On a good note, I did manage to work with Todd from TTBikeFit to fit my road bike. There were definitely some drastic changes. I didn't realize that I was riding like a complete dweeb. Hopefully this new position will improve my overall performance. Next step is to get the tri-bike ordered.
Glad to see that everyone else is hanging tough. I already miss the folks who have moved off to prepare for IMSG.
Anyways, enjoy the rest of the week and continue to crush it!
Pete
I'm looking forward to working with TT Bike fit. My birthday is coming up and I'm asking for a fit as a gift!
Marc, good luck on your half mary this weekend!
Keep up the good work, team!
Sounds like you're all hanging in there. Especially you, Pete. just reading your post made me tired and want to crawl back into bed! And you're right, the blizzard is heading your way. So odd, because here in CO, even in the mtns where they need the stuff to sustain the ski industry, we've got very little snow.
Good luck on the Half marathon Marc! I'll definitely look for your race report.
Just two more weeks!!!!
Since Oceanside 70.3 is less than 8 weeks away I decided to add " a little swimming" to the OS plan.
I took some swim workouts from week 13 of a HIM plan and am happy to say (even though I like to swim - particularly for recovery) that 2 1/2 months with no pool time seemed well worth it.
After last Sunday's run I managed 3200m on Monday (my calves did seize up at about 2800m), 3200m on Tuesday and since I had a plan to ride outside in San Diego today but due to rain only managed 1:15 on the trainer I put in another 3300m in the pool.
