Virtual power - I need help!

Thanks to some good advice from EN peeps, I was able to purchase some items that would give me the right set-up to use virtual power with TrainerRoad. I purchased and installed a Garmin cadence and speed sensor and am using the Suunto ANT+ USB stick to read the data and transfer it to TR.

The Garmin sensor seems to be working because the green and red lights work when the spoke and pedal magnets pass by the sensor. I believe I have the right software - downloaded it to my Mac from the Garmin website, but nevertheless the ANT Agent application can't seem to read the data and transfer it to TR. What gives?

Please help.

Naomi

  •  Hi Naomi,

Let's troubleshoot - you on mac or PC?

    Baseline questions:

Have you created your TrainerRoad account?

Have you installed the Adobe AIR and the TrainerRoad software?

Plug in the Suunto Ant+ stick, then open the TrainerRoad software, and let's see if we can get the devices to pair.

Can you open the TrainerRoad software and get to the Devices tab? (see att)

  •  So do I - that's great.

Can you get to the Devices tab as described below?

(Note: running downstairs to get my Ant+ stick and HRM to walk through this)

If you're interested, we can go to the chat feature, which makes communication a little more real-time... let me know.

(Ew - HRM is still clammy from that VO2 workout...  on the plus side my resting pulse is like 48...)

  • Okay, it seems to be working now. I think I hadn't paired it properly. Of course it was an easy fix ... duh! image

    Thanks so much!!!
  • Great!  Have fun with it - VP was life changing for me.  Ok, perhaps that overstates it, but it does make those long and dark winter workouts WAY more engaging.  Best!

  • Nice good job. I don't know how you post pictures like that. I have been here for 2 years and still this site gives me problems with posting pictures. I have to post a picture on some other site then try to copy that picture and lastly, pasting the picture here and then I'm told the picture is to big. Arghhh
  • I love the little Suuntos stick. That thing is soo stealthy and cool!
