Show your Nov OS pride!

It looks like the Honeybadger (not sure how he got that name) has started an us vs. them thing between the Nov OS and Jan OS groups on the dashboard.

Except that he didn't exactly start it, he was just trying to rally the Jan OS troops, and I wanted to turn it into a battle - but he did say that the Nov OS group isn't capable of pushing themselves to the physical and/or mental max.  Except that he didn't say that, he was just saying that the Jan OS group is for those who can, which to me infers that us Nov OS folks aren't capable.

Anyhow, check out the dashboard, strut your stuff, and show him that the Nov OS is for those who are so hardcore and extreme, we have no desire to sit around and get soft during the holidays like the Jan OS group is!

  • I love this team!!!!! Except I didn't really say or do that.......Ryan you are going to make this a blast. Usually there is some smack talk between OS groups. I have not seen or heard much from the Dec crew. I am assuming they have started up???

Someone raised me an Truscott so I threw in a Withdrow........Let the Hunger Games Begin!!!!!!!

  • Ryan, I have to be honest with you. I really don't pay attention to what the JV squad has going on. Us big hitters in the NOS have too much on our plates as it is, what with our sick Gordo, Turkey Week workout shuffles, New Vs Old FTP test conversations, what VO2 number to use... The list just goes on and on. By the time other so called "outseason" groups start, we'll be so far ahead of the curve that we won't even be able to see back to them...

See you are the rats in the lab to be sure the plans/workouts are going to work then the TEAM or you can call us the Jan OS gets to go to bat!!!!!

On a serious note it looks like you are all tearing it up!!!!!  Keep up the strong work!!

  • @ Carl - the mantra I often hear is "Lead from the front"..... seems like that is what the NOS is doing..... maybe JOS is just skeered to do hard work....

LOL thats awesome.  Check out http://badassoftheweek.com/honeybadger.html  (if you're not familiar with that site, it can be a great read).

  • that video is funny.

  • You can take the sick Gordo off the list, pretty much anyway.  I just get on the trainer or treadmill and go till I start coughing as I'm tired of sitting it out.

We also have the advantage of the OS over Christmas to help keep the lbs off.  Now this is somewhat of a mixed blessing figuring out workouts and shuffling things over the holidays but I'll take it.

Hey, RnP constantly remind us in the race recap podcasts that they care less about the finish times, and mroe about the problem solving that people go through to finish their race.  So, the NOS crew definitely has an advantage there having to deal with thanksgiving and christmas and new years.  The JOS crew is obviously a bunch of slackers who would rather not deal with that - it's too hard.

  • Quick Admin Note -- General trashtalking and fun-having is great. But please no singling out members, even the thickskinned, for personal comments or "motivation"...what is one person's "funny" online is another person's "not-so-funny". So have fun here, but if you want to call me out for being invisible all winter, do it via a PM....get it??? image

    As you were...
  • Good post, Coach P - I was beginning to get morally conflicted between showing NOS pride and beating up fellow ENers. Reminds me too much of that other place i've heard of... what's it called? Can't remember, I'm twitching a bit slow today... (That being said: GO NOS Peeps!!!)

PS: Are we still allowed to make fun of Carl's variety of avatars?

    Who? image

  • Actually, some of us (Carl included) completed the NOS last year and have moved on to graduate school - aka JOS.
  • I completed the Oct OS the last 2 yrs, so I'm skipping the High School and undergrad stuff and jumping straight into the PhD level JOS program this yr just so I could see what kind of carnage might occur when you try to back a Honeybadger into a corner.
  •  There's a Jan OS?  Hm...slack for two months while the Nov OS been gittin 'er dun...ok....they do say that imitation is the best form of flattery...so follow on Jan OS peeps.
