Craig Alexander Comes to Boston -- Recap

Thanks to all the EN peeps who attended....great to see you in the flesh! I thought it was a great night...setting & food good. Crowie's intro/review of some of the pics from his book were great, and then 45 minutes of Q&A really allowed him to open up. Occurred to me more than once how lucky we are as a sport to have such great champions....between him and (until recently) Chrissy, I can't think of two better ambassadors for what makes the sport great.

Most of the questions were really benign stuff; my favorite was when someone asked him why triathlons were so expensive (he gave a gracious answer about our whole sport). He handled questions about Macca and a few other topics quite candidly; just a real likeable guy. Makes we want to pull for him again this year...

If you get the chance to see him speak, do it...totally worth it.

  •  Cool.

yes i would like one more win from him before retirement.

i first "met" him during the Escape from Alcatraz 2008 i believe.     He was coming back on the run.   I was going out.   I had to scoot out of the way of him and Potts.

  • I've heard tapes of several appearances and interviews with him and they are all gracious and candid.

I met and rode with and got to chat with Macca one time, too. Completely and totally charming and gracious (even after his race a couple days later). Is it ok to like both of them or is this a Giants and Dodgers situation...cuz I don't really want to choose! :-)
