Great job everyone. Collective fatigue is a killer but were sticking with the program.
Hey Cory finally found one of your post to comment on! It is tough getting the workouts in with the little ones. My hats off to you for trying. Congrats on your skating! It is an awesome feeling competing against the younger peeps and keeping up!
Goodnight all VO2mas 45/45s on my mind for morning. Sleep well!
3x1@7:36 done. First one - easy, second one - medium, got hard at the end, third one - started out hard and I was counting the hundredths passing by on the screen. Somewhere in the middle of that mile, I started thinking of our upcoming family ski trip to utah and magically the next time i looked down, I was done :-)
way to push it out peeps and a happy birthday to Naomi!
Finally got my wko done on the deadmill tonight. Uneventfull 4x1 @ TP. All were about 15" fast but none felt hard.... 57' - 7 miles @ 8:06 (MP). Looking forward to vDot test next week - gonna bust out a big one, well, try to at least.
Pen- welcome to the posting world!! I have found it makes me think more in depth about my training and its awesome accountability and support for the REALLY tough days! Welcome!!
Eric- thanks for the support! Without you I wouldn't even know about EN! Go get those VO2 this morning!! Don't put it off!
Ok... A day late and a dollar short but got the run done. Will be cranking out the bike tonight or tomorrow!! Must. Keep. Up. With. Rest. Of. Team. Hahaha. Happy VO2 Thursday to you all!!!
Too late Cory I got caught up in work right off the back this AM. Vo2 will have to wait till the boy is at swim practice this evening.
Great job getting your run done Cory. I would recommend still taking the Friday off instead of trying to get the bike in. In the past one missed workout was not the end of the world but trying to pack it all in to keep up with life adds up especially without taking the scheduled breaks on the plan. Next week is test week so it will be better to come into testing recovered and rested instead of having hit every workout at the expense of no days off.
@Cory - so skating is your winter sport! That is interesting how the cross-training with running and biking is helping you in your TTs. I have great admiration for anyone that pushes the kiddies - I can't imagine how hard it would be when they are fighting!
Good News story to follow up on my "bail out" yesterday. Got about 1.25hrs more sleep and "re-booted" yesterday's run workout. The TP was 7:18/mi and my 4 X1mi were 8:07, 7:36, 7:25, 7:11. I attribute the slow start to it just being cold out (about 30 degrees) and slower to warm-up. Overall - solid run workout and I got in about 7 miles.
Since I did my bike test this Tuesday, I'll not worry about missing today's bike workout. Instead, I will just look forward to an easy swim tomorrow and Saturday's brick workout!
Great job Joe! Did you run those intervals on a track or the road? I have had similar results (slow miles 1st miles) in the cold.
Eric - I run a .5mi loop around my sub-division. It has a great hill and minimizes the workout time vs. going to a track. Although I didn't post this and it might be useful to Pen based on his earlier post, my AVHR was Z2, Z3, Z3, and then finally Z4 on the last one. So, my slow times were just a matter of warming up and not lack of fitness. At least that is my story and I'm stickin' to it!
I got the run in a bit after the bike. I will say trying to get comfortable in Z3 going uphill has been working me over (not in a good way) the last few weeks and it did it again today. I just feel like I get in a much higher zone to keep the pace. I was able to hold it this time, but I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt a bit. 4 miles in 30 min, for me, pretty good. Have a great weekend!
