To "Strava" - a new verb

Saw this interesting article in Outside Online, about the emergence of Strava, which I know several ENers use.

  • Dude! That's a great read. Thanks for posting it. I really enjoy Strava and have made it a huge part of my training and mojo plan. I love to get the email in the AM telling me what the guys that I follow did yesterday. I follow over 50 people that I know between EN and my Tri club. It's a blast to see who is riding/running and what they are doing.

The comments and kudos we share are also really strong.

I am not super motivated by the KOM thing, but you take pride in seeing your name on the board. I also feel really good about seeing names of people I know on the leader board. It makes me feel connected to the local riding community.

The best though for me is that Strava tracks my progress on every ride, on every segment. I used to use excel to keep my times on popular routes. Now, Strava does it for me. It's a great training and motivation tool.

Plus, Strava means Strive in Swedish! How cool is that!
