Moving Joule Data to New Computer

So I just got a new laptop with WIndows 8.  (Not loving it just yet)  I'm trying to figure out how to get all my Joule/PowerAgent files downloaded without having to do it one by one, which seems to be the only option at this point.  I have all of the files saved on a USB, and the new laptop but when I go to Import in PowerAgent, I can only do one file.  I'm hoping that's not the case, but I may just say screw it and just download my last 2 weeks, cuz I guess before that, it doesn't really matter anyway.....

Thanks!

  • Kim ... first of al, the caveats - I'm not a computer Power User. I am a native Mac speaker (had macs since 1985), who only uses Windows @ work, and only bought a Windows computer last year for my training needs (as WKO and CompuTrainer live only in the Wintel world). And what I'm about to say I haven't tried myself, it's just what I *would* try first if I were in your place.

Having said that, all programs store their files *somewhere* in the computer's filing system. Searching around my PC - which is Windows 7, not 8 - I find all my PowerAgent ("Joule") files are in the following location Libraries>Documents>CycleOps>YourName.power>data.

Find that location in the Windows 8 filing system (?Explorer; ?Computer). Then batch copy all the files which you say you have on a USB flash drive into that folder on your new computer. Worth a try.

  • Thanks Al! I was ale to get the files on the USB, and start the download process but the data is not in the BIN file. I see all the files there, but when I open them in Power Agent, they are (for lack of a better word) f#@$*d up. They all seem to have the same data as well. I'll keep playing around.....
  • I decided to give this another shot and still no luck. I had gotten a little info from someone at Saris that was not helpful. Anyone? Bueller? I really want to review some of my files from last year and this is ticking me off!
