Power Meter Announcements
I just noticed this. Maybe its been announced before but I have not been in the market for long so I did not know.
Quarq just updated their product line. Not sure yet the material product differences or if anything new exists, but of interest to me was a drop in the MSRP price points on the low end of the line.
Maybe the official announcement from Stages Cycling (also today) is being taken as serious competition by Quarq and warrents some downward relief on the low end price point. (yes, we know...don't be a beta tester).
The new products are the ELSA 10R (MSRP $1,995, available immediately), and the RIKEN 10R (MSRP $1,595, available in February). The Red product remains.
I did see a note that the S975 (CinQo, Saturn, whatever) has been discontinued. Maybe some EOL markdown will appear, but I have not seen them yet.
If anybody has more information on the product differentiation from Quarq please share it here. But an undiscounted price of $1,595 is movement in the right direction.
For me and where I currently find myself, money talks. And the RIKEN 10R product from Quarq could be the one. (Why do I always pick expensive hobbies....)
