Flat and achy feet
So I discovered pretty recently that I have really low arches (can't believe I've gone this long without realizing that ). Recently, I've been suffering through tired and achy feet during runs that force me to stop and take a break after a few minutes or so. I recall this happening occasionally in the past, but I wasn't able to figure out exactly why that was happening.
I just invested in a new pair of shoes (Asics GT2000) and a set of SuperFeet orthotics for arch support. Went out for a run in them and my feet still feel kinda crappy, although I'm guessing that's because my feet are tired and it takes some time to adapt.
My question is, is there anything else I can do to help with my lack of arches? I'm going to try doing some feet strengthening exercises (ex. picking up things with my toes) to see if that helps any.

All right, so I've invested in this nifty little gadget to help with strengthening my feet on a regular basis:

I'm still experiencing feet fatigue during runs. I've worked my way up to 2.5-3 mile runs, but that's basically all my feet can handle before getting achy and tired. Basically, I've only done a handful of really short runs in the past few weeks with little improvement . Should I run more frequently so that my feet can adapt and get stronger, or should I avoid running so I don't make it worse?
I'm also considering perhaps throwing in a few barefoot runs on grass. Supposedly that can help with working all the little muscles in your feet and lower legs that don't get used very often when running in shoes. Any thoughts on that?
