When to re-test due to new equipment?
I posted this Q in the JANOS Bike thread, but thought that I should put it out here as well.
I recently bought a new Kurt Kenetic trainer and rode it this week. I train with virtual power via trainer road and I saw, with the same bike set up (tire pressure, trainer tension screw turns, etc.) a 60 watt difference in my ride from the same ride on my old Magnetic trainer (Cycleops). I want to get the power number for this trainer set up - so when can I throw in the test?
Which workout would be OK to sub with the power test, the Tuesday Thursday or Saturday workout?
I just don't want to re-test week 8 and see a rediculous power increase.

Tues, or Sat, cause there's a rest day before. I also vote for Tues, as it is more a pure FTP training day, without the aditional minutes suggested for Sat. Do a brick afterwards, jus as you normally would.
Tuesday it looks like the Advanced plans workout is 15 min x 2. I would just re test Tuesday either using the new protocol/trainer road. I actually like the actual Trainer Road test. It builds you up slowly as its increasing your power and before the VO clearance there is a couple min bursts also. For me it just loosens me up more and gets me ready.
Tuesday it's test day for us in the pain cave. I will get all giddy the night before like its a race. I'm doing the 20 min non EN one in trainer road. I like how it ramps me up. Just a mental thing but it works!'
