Jan OS 2013 MOJO thread
Hi everyone!! Lots of folks in the house doing the Jan OS. Some posting their workouts in the forums, some on the dashboard, others just getting the work done on their own and reading which is great. Just wanted to check in here with you and see how you are doing.
Jess brought up the issue of running in cold temps in the Week 4 run thread. Check it out.
Chris is making a comeback from his calf injury modifying the run program to meet his needs. Excellent!!
So many stories of people getting it done around work travel, kids, illness and personal physical limiters. I hope them sharing their stories is helping you become a better self coached athlete.
I am all about modifying as I go. Always checking my fatigue level and soreness /stiffness and being extra careful. This is from years of experience of going too far and getting injured. It is a fine line to balance at when trying to improve.
I wish you a strong week of workouts. Think of it as taking your medicine. Too much is not good. Take the dose that will help you get stronger.
Happy training to you!!

Week five now for me. Feeling fresh and breezy. After beating myself up with three irons in 2012, took some good rest and did unstructured physical stuff. Figure I have a good base from last year. Run speed and bike power have rapidly returned. Doing quick and easy 10 weeks OS then 10 weeks somewhat modified iron plan.
In a couple weeks, doing a tandem bike weekend in Tucson with wife. A travel coupled Co-Motion. Will see if I can get it back together in Tucson. Five weeks out from Texas I get a week of biking in Kona (well, north of Kona). Up and down to Hawi many times over. Maybe up and over saddle road to Hilo once.
Looking forwarded to seeing how rested me takes Texas.
Hope you are feeling healthy, strong and happy. Enjoy whatever effort you can give today on your workout. Some days were feel like Popeye after he has his spinach and some days not so much. Stay positive and do your best!! You all inspire me and keep me motivated. Thank you.
XO

I am testing out the new and easy way to post a picture. Here is my daughter Madison in Kona 2009 at the age of 5 testing out a custom kids tri bike. The guy from Trek had built it for his 8 year old daughter. Madison is 8 now. I wish I could get my hands on that bike for her.
The last couple of years, the Ironkids Nat'l championship has been in my neighborhood. It's one thing to see kids riding with expensive race wheels. Those are things that their parents have and loan to their kids. Even I loaned my front wheels to my kids. But there ARE some 8-9 year olds with custom bikes...it's nuts!
