saddles

I originally posted a question on the dashboard and did get some responses from the men. Just wondering what saddle the ladies are using on their Tri bikes.

  • Hey this was my reply from the other womens saddle forum (you should check out what others said there too, may be beneficial!)

"Just a litte fyi, a few weeks ago I got the adamo racing II. I love it! It took a little getting used to weight bearing more on the ischial tubes when sitting up (feels a lot like same pressure spots on my mountain bike) and almost pubic rami when in aero, but it's awesome! I love it and am so much more comfortable. I'm also considering doing the retul fit soon, which can only make it all even better I hope!"

Haven't dont retul yet, but still planning to soon image hope it helps!!
  • I swapped my Cobb V-Flow Plus for an Adamo Time Trial last season and I never looked back. LOVE it!
  • I had a fizik for 2 years. It wasn't uncomfortable but I during workouts I would always shift around. Last year I tried a cobb v flow max. After a couple of rides it was very uncomfortable. Didn't have the time to fiddle with any adjustments so I went back to the fizik saddle. I just recently tried the adamo prologue. I've only ridden it once and made a few adjustments but i think it'll be a winner.
  •  I'm probably off the beaten path.  I have been riding with Koobi's tri saddles the last 12 years and like it.  I ride a lot specially summers.

  • Was on V-flow Max for a few years, without real issue. Then the lady bits started to complain again. I am no on Adamo Prologue and would never go back to anything with a closed nose. My road bike has a Selle Lady SMP, but I sit upright, no the closed end of the nose is not an issue.
  • I ride with an Adamo ISM and love it. I've been using it for 2 years without any issues.
  • Hi ladies,

STILL having saddle trouble. Rode Cobb V-flow max all last year. Did have some soft tissue irritation that I have been trying to resolve before the higher volume bikes start again. I have tried the Cobb SH170, Cobb V-flow plus, and just today was re-fit again and put on an Adamo Time Trial saddle.  I had to leave the fitter to pick up my kids ( after 4 hours!) and am still not sure I am in the right position. The fitter is a fitter for USAT and travels around the world fitting many pros. He is also a FIST instructor, so I DO have confidence in him. He adjusted my aero bars as well, trying to re-distribute some of the pressure.  Maybe I am not giving good feedback... I am VERY frustrated!!!! I feel like the princess and the pea!  Has anyone else gone through so much stress trying to get this right??? Do I just need to give my body time to adjust to the ADAMO saddle?

  • Love my Adamo. That said, it does take a little time at first adjusting because you sit on it a little differently. BUT- I'll also not that it isn't for everyone. I think you ultimately either love it or hate it. Saddles are just really personal that way and you have to try out lots of stuff before you find what you like.
  • I had a Cobb Vflow on my road bike and just got a tri bike and the saddle it came with doesn't feel so nice in aero. I think an Adamo is the answer based on where my issue is. I can't decide which one. I used the saddle selector but I'll be do a variety of distances on a variety of terrain over the net couple of years so that didn't help me narrow it down. I think the wider the opening the better.... Any thoughts?
  • I recently purchased a Selle Italian Diva Flow. It does have a closed nose but I love it anyway. I've had no problems with it at all.
  • I did get the Adamo road saddle for my new tri bike and love it! Not 100% perfect but close enough for now....
  • Kim,

I am glad you are having success with the Adamo. I am still not happy. image  The soft tissue chafing is better, but now I am getting saddle sores, like big boils right in the groin area. Not sure if the saddle is too wide? I have zip tied the nose together a bit.   I have had two different bike fitters, including a physical therapist/bike fitter instructor, look at this and can not seem to get the right saddle or the right position. image

  • Jen- Bontrager makes a saddle with adjustable noce width and gap. That would be my next option....
