Ran the 2 x 1/2 and 1 x 1 over a 90 minute run just short of 10 miles. It was nice here in Little Rock, being partly sunny and almost 70 with a stiff wind. Decided to run a route with some hills in it today. Hit all my pace marks on the intervals in spite of running them up/down hill. Rest of the run took it easy and enjoyed the day.
Today's run was a "muscle" run for me. Having pushed really hard on the bike yesterday, it just wasn't one of those elegant flying days. I went outside because the temp as 36 and it had been raining all morning, so I figured the road would be clear. Turned out to be a bit more of a steeplechase, with deep puddles, ice, and snow drifts crossing my path. But it was all good. Wish I were in a little better shape for it but it tuned out fine.
Fast Miles were at 6:40 pretty much. 11.6 mi in 90 min total.
My Garmin is doing this thing right now where if you use it inside, it decides the elevation is approximately outer space, and then it takes forever to settle back down to earth. Anyone seen that before?
St Pete RnR half marathon went great. Did my first 6 miles quicker than my Z4 7:53 pace, mile 7 @ 8:02, then hung on average 8:30 the rest of the way for a 1:46:07. My goal was to get in as many miles possible under my Z4 pace.
Even though I've been a member over a month now I haven't been posting here. I realize this is where my running posts belong! Got last week done but yesterday was hard. I hate the dreadmill and my gym had the heat cranked up. It felt like it was 95 degrees so, it was a bit slower than hoped. I kept reminding myself that my A race is in July so I better learn to embrace the heat!
Sunday's run: Interesting. When I looked at my numbers via WKO+, my splits were a lot slower than they showed on my Garmin. And when I look at Garmin Connect, they are the same numbers which showed up on the watch. Since my RPE seemed higher than my WKO splits (more in tune with my Garmin splits), I'm using the Garmin. And my first interval was messed up due to operator error. When I meant to push the lap button to start it, I pushed the start/stop button instead. After a while, I wondered why I didn't get any beep/buzz from my watch, and realized what I had done. I guess no watch is idiot-proof, when the operator is an idiot!
Interval #1: guestimated at 0.73 miles at 6:44 (TP goal 7:12) Interval #2: 1 mile @ 6:59 Interval #3: 1 mile @ 6:54
Posted By Bruce Thompson on 10 Feb 2013 09:08 PM @ Matt -- yeah the 50+ guy who beat me was 54 and he ran 37:20 to my 45:10. Obviously, a very talented runner. But can he swim and put out 250 watts?
@Bruce, yep I am always saying the same thing, then if he kicks my butt in tri, i then say can he skate faster than me, if that fails i fall to my fav..... can he keyboard as fast as me
