Garmin 500 vs Joule questions (for the last time)??

I think I may have asked some of this before, but I've read all the threads here and in slowtwitch, reviews, specs, etc., and I've got my last few questions before I order something.  1)  Is TSS, etc. worth the extra money?  With discounts, it appears that the Joule is about $200 more than the Garmin.  I've never had power before.  Just finished going through the power webinar for the second or third time (that may be the best money that I've ever spent).  It seems like TSS, IF, and VI would be useful during races - I could tell real time if I'm on plan.  But maybe paying close attention to my "gear chart" will do it.  My first A race is Vineman 70.3 in mid July, so I have 5 months to learn about using power.  Many people on the team and in ST seem to believe that once you get comfortable with power, the real time information is interesting but not necessary.  Comments?  2) I have two bikes.  My other bike will not have power for the forseeable future.  I could move the Garmin back and forth between bikes.  That may be true for the Joule as well if I have AnT+ speed and cadance sensors (probably garmin), but I'm not sure.  3)  I will probably be getting a a garmin 310xt for the run (replacing my old polar 625).  Is it a problem having devices from two manufacturers?  My guess is no, but...?  4) I like the mapping data that you can upload from the garmin 500.  Can I upload the mapping data from a 310xt to sites like mapmyride, etc.??  I couldn't tell from the web site.

I don't think support is much of an issue.  The 500 seems to interface well with PT hubs, and I'm sure the people at wheelbuilder would help me with either if I had a problem.

Thanks for the help.
