What did you do while EN was down???

I personally went into total withdrawal....I had a ton of stuff to keep me busy, but I really, really missed you guys. image I did also manage to read like 400 pages of more fantasy fiction hero stuff...

How about you???

  • You were down? ;-) Being a computer guy... I was wondering how things were going for you guys and your web guy. I know how stressful it is when things go down and a bunch of people want it back up yesterday.

I've been so busy with work (and injuries) the last year or so I have't been around much. But I finally had gotten over my years worth of injuries and was training again and then the site went down. So I was trying to remember what my workouts where! But my 2 young kids enjoyed me not being at the computer as much!
  • I just sat in corner and cried.... image

Nope. I was super busy, but I am loving the new look and excited to what has changed or improved day by day. Kudos for making the bold move to start fresh and work on something new. I wish TrainingPeaks would do the same and finally overcome their flash limitations.
  • Not that I'm a grizzled veteran compared to many folks round these parts, but suffice to say that my 'triathlon blood pressure' has come down quite a bit over the years, so a few days off from EN was nothing much to get geeked out over for me-- the parents might be out of town but I still know better than to light a bonfire in the living room.

That said, the side effect was I spent a little time back over in ST land which is always a semi-dangerous proposition. This time however it was fairly innocuous, I enjoyed reading the discussion that was raging the tail end of last week after Slowman's emphatic endorsement of the Hoka One Bondi B and declaring that the natural running movement is in it's death knells as a fad. Actually ended up changing my opinion on a few things. • Well, fortunately, the JOS was still alive and kicking in Facebook ... so I kept up with my EN buddies there. BTW, how come Patricks and Dino's member photo's show up and mine doesn't? Do I need to reinstall it for EN 5.0?

  • Luckily it was my transition, and i was off skiing. But it reminded me that my habit of keeping the next 2-3 weeks of wkos on a whiteboard is good survivalist practice, like stocking things ahead of time for the next wind or snow storm which disrupts life. Speaking of which, I hope our NE peeps are getting good aerobic results from snow removal.
  • @All, love the responses!!!

@Al, any aerobic benefits reduced by huddling for warm in my 38-degree house!! Excited the power is back on!!!
  • The time I wasted on EN prior to it going down, I spent starting a new yoga program. Damn, yoga is no joke!!! I almost punched my TV.
  • What did I do while EN was down? Doubled up on my depression meds and drank red wine (lots)! ;-)
  • I'm working as a teaching assistant for a class of ~130 students, and I spent most of the downtime responding to a torrent of emails from students who needed help in preparing for their midterm, etc. That actually gave me a lot of appreciation the type of work that RnP have to do every day, and the sheer magnitude of the operation that's run here. image

  • ..... sweet Al.....
  • The timing of the site going down was perfect...got a bad cold the day it went down.  So I slept.  Just when I started to feel better, the site was back up & I was ready to work again.  BINGO!!
  • I actually posted a question on Slowtwitch. For the record, no one referred to Lance nor typed in pink. :-)

We should totally make these forums more like ST.

  • Milled aimlessly around the internet....

  • Spent more time working out!
