Went to three workshops this weekend by this guy. Really liked what he had to say. He is from Florida. If I lived near him I would go get an assessment. So should you if you live close.

  • I think Brenda means this guy: http://www.3dhumanmotion.com/

    B, what did you like?
  • Yes,that is what I meant. Thanks Coach P.

What I liked is that he explained the link between injuries and fascial highways. With every point he made, we would get up and do a movement pattern that drove the message home. His slides showed pics of a cadaver with the fascial and showed the pathway. We saw the frontal, posteral and lateral pathways of the fascia. It made sense to me because of some of the stuff I am seeing in the forums on our team. e.g. Kori who dealt with plantar issues (at least I think that was the issue) and after an assessment, found out that it was her back. This guys says the same thing. When someone comes in with a shoulder injury, you need to look at the joint above or below that joint, and it is usually below. If you look at the flexibility highway of that joint, you are able to assess the areas affected by that pathway and are able to see where it is coming from. I am planning on taking his integrated Back Rehab on line course. Pretty interesting stuff. He also stated, that of the endurance athletes he sees, 85% have a foot issue that is undiagnosed and once they figure that out, things usually move in the right direction. Case in point - I was dealing with some issue with my posterior tibial tendon as soon as I started my OS again. Last year I suffered from that and was off for 5 weeks. My gut told me it was my bike, so I did some research and found some things to check. Bingo, my foot was doing just that, so I contacted my bike fitter to ask her for help. Her first question was - Brenda are you wearing your orthotics in your shoes and I said no, that I had taken them out last year (now that I think about it, it was about the same time that this injury showed up last year), so the orthotics went back in and low and behold the issue has disappeared. Kinda interesting, do you not think. I am now having a bit of an issue with left shoulder. I am going to look at the facial highway and see if I can find out where it might be stemming from. Can't hurt me, especially since I have the knowledge base to work from as a trainer. Is that enough to let you know why I think this dude is legit?
  • This is great. Love it. Thanks for sharing! I'd love to check out the online integrated back rehab course as well...
