please critique my bike fit

Don't know if this is the right place for this, but I just need your expert opinions on my bike fit.  I probably need to angle the saddle up some, because I feel like I'm sliding forward a little.  Thanks.

  • It looks pretty good. Your saddle seems pretty level but I could see where you kept moving yourself back. Remember that changing the slant of the seat also changes the height of the front of the seat. Angling up makes the seat higher and angling down makes the seat lower. So you might need to slide the seat post up or down an equal amount to compensate.
  • I think the fit looks pretty good too.

Great tool to measure fit is Ubersense. See their how-to guide for bike fit here: http://blog.ubersense.com/2012/08/09/triathlon-bike-fit-introduction/
  • My only thought is that you are way forward on that bike - as in > 50% of you over front wheel = hard to steer / handle, etc. You are right on pads and seat height = good but I would look into how long that stem is. If you can shorten it up, that might put you further back on your seat...or at least reduce the amt you need to slide your seat forward. Your QR has a pretty aggro seat tube angle already, so don't want you to max that out if you don't have to....
  • Thanks for the input guys. Unfortunately for me, the aerobar is a 3T Ventus and the stem is integrated. The only thing that I can really adjust on that is the aerobars forward/backward position. The pads cannot be moved back. I'm try to move my saddle and back a little and try that out. Eventually, I may have to change my aerobar setup.
  • Carlo,  3T Cycling has a part that will allow you to move the pad farther back on the aero bar if they are fixed to the base bar.   I have a 3T Aura bars and was looking how to move the pads father back and after foolishly buying some other options found these clamps that 3T offers for just that purpose.  You might want to check if they are compatible with your setup.

To install them you have to completely take apart your shifters on your aero bars but it will be worth it instead of buying a complete new front rig.

Final price was about $77 and they ship direct from Italy and arrived at my door step in two to three days.
