Powertap computer vs hub?

I have an older (2009) Powertap Elite+ computer, the basic model. I would like to upgrade because it is starting to have issues and because there seems to be a lot more functionality that I want in newer models. Can I use the same hub and just get a new computer?

yup. I'm almost positive that hub is ANT+. So I'd recommend the Garmin Edge 500 for bang for the buck. Or you could get the new Edge 510 for all of the new gadgets like WiFi connectivity and real-time tracking.

500 definitely is bang for buck. 510 is really almost a completely different deal.

One small other option to at least consider is the possibility of using a 310 or 910 as both bike and run. Both are more expensive than the 500 and not quite as slick on the bike, but if you don't have another GPS watch....
